i guess i'll start off the discussion then. so far i think this arc is great. there's questions: where's Leslie?, Joker's back, someone knows who Batman is. and of coarse the return of Cluemaster. and i think they did a good job on bringing him back with scars and burns on his face and head. it shows continuity and that he almost died in Suicide Squad. I think Batman knows its him, i mean if Black Mask could figure it out, i imagine Batman already knows. the play on his name is a "clue" in itself (sorry for the pun, but i couldn't help it, and i think thats why Willingham used that name.).

I have read the first two parts of War Crimes and it is great. I was having a problem with the past storyline going on in Detective Comics and I am glad that is over. The return of The Joker is always cool, he is one villian I never tire of. I am really digging Batman being pretty much solo in BATMAN, and the way he and Alfred are getting along it's really nice to see.

Does anyone know what's happened so far in the second half of WAR CRIMES (Detective Comics#810 and Batman#644)?

War Crimes started off with so much potential and for some reason the last two issues fell apart for me. I felt as though they rushed the Joker along and kept playing the it's my job to kill Robin card a bit too much. But then the very last few pages with Leslie and Bruce fixed everything...gripping stuff there and what a complete shock

Cluemaster didn't really have a huge role here. I thought he'd be in costume like the the cover. But we were wrong again.

I really hoped that joker would do black mask in but how it ended did well. I liked how joker didn't try to flee custody but wanted to prove a point that he would get out in due time, black mask however just fired his way thru. The conclusion of arturo was fitting but the real gripper was Leslie...wow. Little sidenote: personal victory. 400 posts! yay. Funny how people who haven't been here as long as me have more posts still. But 400...seemed like 100 just yesterday!

Im inlcined for the most part to agree with Technobat. It had loads of potential and with the exception of some bits here and there, the story started off great! and then... Clumaster's "return" was pretty much wasted and meeningless. Joker's inlovement was rushed and ultimately also meeningless. The big "reveal" IMHO (although rather well executed and powerful) fealt so "forced" and gratuitous... "shock value" only. I Simply didn't find it natural or believable. I dunno, Just my gut reaction.

Great choice of words with natural or believable, glad to see you and a few others (Arkham 16) agree with my impression on the last two issues, I thought I might have been in the minority. Now what they are going to have to do is hide The Joker away for some time before bringing him back to redeem himself or whoever wrote this story should not be allowed to write The Joker for awhile. I'm with those who felt that War Crimes fell apart at the end. In fact I hated the ending.
