My brother collects Nightwing, he is a huge fan of Dick Grayson. I have only seen that picture of the new costume and I hope that it doesn't stick around too long, I like the dark blue costume alot better, but only time will tell. I will have to really check it out before casting a final decision on the new costume.

I'm finally able to get back on after 6 months! Yeah! I feel like I was suspended.
However, the sites biggest Nightwing fan is finally back! Yeah!
I think my boy has some big things in store for him. Judging by what I asked Dan Didio @ WW Philly & what has happened since, Dick looks to be invading the Villians by convinding Deathstroke that he is opposed to what the heroes did, possibly spying from within, reforming the JLA, and being one of the lead forces of Infinite Crisis. Then, at the "One Year Later" he will have a new creative team and continued push.
Good times coming! Has everyone seen the IC #1 Perez cover, featuring Dick? Looks AWESOME!

"leading forces"...now that's the nightwing i know! I always enjoy any story with nightwing in it. I liked the JLA a few years back when he led it. I hope some of the loose ends withe mob family get tied up.

Nope, Matt;I hadn't seen this photo until you'd shown me this/ that...
IMO, I don't think that this suit could/ would work with Nightwing if he wants to be stealthy...Think about it; if you wanted to hide in the dark, why would you pick the color red for your costume? (Ever wonder why the French were easy to pick off during the first month of WWI because of their red kepis and trousers...) I'm not saying that the color blue is any stealthier, I'm just saying that it's not as "loud" as any other color...

Hmmmmm thats .. intersting. Cant wait for better images. But for now, I hope it isnt permanant? It appears like an amalgam of Tarantula and the Robin? costume from Batman and Robin. I have been one of the few (I'm sure) that has been axiously but patiently waiting for Nightwing to adopt a new more suitable costume. I have never been a big fan of the outfit he's been wearing for soo long now. Dont get me wrong, I just have personally always wished for something more identifiable, recognizable, nostalgic Etc. Something that says "Nightwing" and perhaps some nods to Bats. I always liekd the inclusion of some yellow in his costume. Ive always wanted a return to the a style somewhere between his disco jumper and his current look? And ive always liked what they did with his suit in TNBA! Oddly Ive recently been trying to design my idea of the perfect (IMO) Nightwing costume (which can be seen in my custom figures thread lol)
Anyway, I LOVE NIGHTWING! His book has been consistantly great and it is always one of the first books I read when I get to reading my stack(s). Although I must say, the current storyline is wearing me down a little. It needs to start picking up momentum and letting us in on more of whats really going on!?

Hey, has anyone else noticed that he looks like he has buccaneer boots on from the 18th century? That in-and-of-itself, for some reason, makes me more intrigued in the books than before... ;D

I don't love the red costume either. Hopefully he switches back to something "darker".

Since you guys are getting excited about this book finally, do any of you have any questions for the artist - Phil Hester? I've got an interview lined up with him, and I'm going to send him the questions soon. If you do, please post them in this thread.

[shadow=purple,left,300]Is there any way a fellow member could update me on why Dick's sporting a new look or what Villains United is? I usually try to keep up with this stuff, but lately I've fallen behind. [/shadow]

[shadow=purple,left,300]Is there any way a fellow member could update me on why Dick's sporting a new look or what Villains United is? I usually try to keep up with this stuff, but lately I've fallen behind. [/shadow] SPOILERS AHEAD - if you haven't read the books and don't want to know, don't highlight this text! After Nightwing returned from his year one hiatus, he was working with the mob. No one knows why - most have assumed that it was an undercover gig to break the mob. It appears that's not the case though. He's about to get involved with Deathstroke, which is what's going to cause the costume change.
Villains united.... think Legions of Doom where all the bad guys are working together. Its a 'if you aren't with us, you're against us' type of mentality. Almost all the major (and minor) players are involved, with the exception of a group of 6 (Deadshot, Cheshire, Ragdoll, Parademon, Cat Man, and Scandal. They are led by a mysterious person named Mockingbird - kind of like Charlie from Charlie's Angels) who each have a grudge against someone in the society, so their fighting against the other villains.End spoilers.
