Does it have to Bruce that dies? No it doesn't. It could be Superman, The Green Lantern, or the Blue Beetle. So why the speculation focussed on Bruce?  |

So why the speculation focussed on Bruce? It's a Batman forum, none of us want Bruce to die. By the way, I vote for Superman. It's the only one I can think about dying and having someone young take his place. |

I see where you're coming from. I can't see anyone else being Batman. But there are people that think Cassandra Cane will take over.  But that wouldn't be Batman would it? |

Right you are inmate, it wouldn't be Batman. It would still be Batgirl or she could upgrade to Batwoman. A reason for my choice is that Superboy is clone of Superman, right? |

Cassandra Cain can still take over for Bruce, just because she's a girl means nothing. she'd be assuming the role, not the costume. i'm hoping that if a character has to die, its not Bruce or any other members of the Bat family. but i believe the speculation is on Batman because he's Batman and because it makes people talk about it. its rumors and speculation, we wont know until 2006 when its over. Jlavia, thanks for that bit of info. I didn't know the Blue Beetle was dead. & Cassandra Cain could assume the mantle but not the suit. But all I'm saying is if she did it wouldn't be BatMAN

RUMOR!! Highlight to read! Wally West is going to die in the upcoming Crisis. Waid will be writing The Flash post Crisis and Bart is The Flash.
If that happens....I might just stop collecting comics altogether. Especially after recent events in that book. I'll be seriously pissed.

i can definetely see them doing that, there's logic to the theory, one dies each crisis to stop the crisis. but maybe they'll kill off Superman and have Earth-2 Superman take his place.

It's Wally West who dies and Bart Allen takes his place. Still reports that Bruce will end up in Arkham and Dick will take his place, but I'm hoping this doesn't come about.

Yeah that particular spoiler has been out for a while, personally I think it would be pretty lame and I dont wanna put any faith into it. As for the Bat side of things, I wouldnt mind at all as long as its well done and not just an unec. "gimick". Worst case, we all know it wouldnt be permanant anyway so why not... its something Ive always wanted to see anyway (at least for more than a single panel or issue).

That simple statement makes me nervous about the rest of the family though. Personally, I'm really interested in seeing how dealing with life as a father of two would impact him. It's something we haven't seen before and is a logical direction for the character to grow in. Hopefully DC has the balls to go thru with it and let the story run.
