Title: Flash
Issue #: 217
Story Arc:
Issue Title: Post-Crisis
Writer(s): Geoff Johns
Penciller: Howard Porter
Inker: Livesay
Editor: Joey Cavalieri
Major Characters: Flash (Wally West); Linda Parks; Batman (Bruce Wayne); Entire Rogues Gallery (featured Kid Boomerang, Captain Cold, Trickster, Mirror Master, Pied Piper, others).
Story Summary: The Flash's wife is back, and quickly reconciles with the Flash. The Rogues have a funeral for Captain Boomerang, which leads to an attack on Keystone. When Wally returns to work, he has to go outside and finds Batman waiting to confront him. Batman tells Wally that he is the reason Tim Drake no longer has a father, and that if Wally cannot control his Rogues, Batman will do it. Wally takes it right back at the Bat, telling him about the differences between the two's Rogues Galleries. Batman asks what he is supposed to tell Tim now that he doesn't have a father, to which Flash responds "Tell Tim what you told Dick the day he left to join the Titans. In all these years, you only said it ONCE. Bit it meant more to him than anything else in his entire life. The issue ends with the CIA w/ reformed rogues working on Captain Boomerang.
Review: This is another excellent issue by Geoff Johns, who, much like Jeph Loeb, can seemingly do no wrong. This issue he again shows why, with the amazing exchanged between Wally & Bruce. What was only said once, "I love you" or "I'm proud of you."?? Whichever, this is a very strong and emotional scene. This is another excellent issue in one of the two best ongoing comics (along with Superman/Batman) on the market today.
