Second part of the five part story line entitled "snow". Story that is set in past contuity and revamps the origin of Mr. Freeze.
Batman makes contact with five citizens of Gotham who each are lacking something in life. One man lost purpose and is a former green beret, one female FBI agent is tired of getting the crappy jobs and not getting in the field, one man seeks community, one man seeks being a legitamate member of society, one woman seeks to be taken seriously as a psychologist. All are united to help batman with bringing down a crime boss. Elsewhere Dr. Frieze tries to help his wife and his invention goes wrong. The invention was reversed and used as a weapon thus freezing his wife and almost killing Frieze.
At first i wasn't too sure if i liked this comic. I wasn't too fond of the art (and i'm still not), but the artist was pretty good at storytelling with his art. The story itself i got to like more and more. It was great to see batman manipulate the people and make them into a team. I almost felt like i was part of their team and really like how bats made a "hands off" approach. The team quickly bonded.
Some bad things with the issue are:
-bats giving each person a "calling" card. Bit tacky in my opinion
Some good things with the issue are:
-the bats being in every scene batman appeared in -the interaction between the team members -frieze having dillusions. Makes me think he has schitzophrenic traits.
Overall i say it was a great issue...4/5
