Like most people, I have been waiting for the "showdown" between Batman and Jason Todd/Red Hood.
In fact, as I have mentioned on this site before, the reason that I have a rejuvenated interest in Batman/DC World lately isn't because of Batman Begins. It's because one of my favorite images is the cover of Death in the Family TBP.
When we were teased with the return of Jason Todd in HUSH the fans of the 2nd Robin were thrilled with the possibilitles.
**This contains spoilers**
In #641 - we learn a few things and raise a few more question.
What we learn:
- Jason Todd feels that his actions aren't "evil." He believes that he doing the ultimate work that Bruce cannot bring himself to do: "bring death to those who deserve death or stand in my way of doing what's right."
- Part of the fight in Hush actually was Clayface and he "switched" with Clayface.
- Jason supplies Bruce with his own blood, fingerprints and a tissue sample so that there is no doubt that this really is Jason Todd.
- There is a great "mask removal sequence" that was drawn pefectly.
Some of Jason's comments actually have a League of Shadows type feel and there is certainly speculation that Ras Ah Ghul may have something to do with Jason's "resurrection" with a hidden Lazurus Pool. Food for thought...
All in all this issue raises more questions than it answers but it was an extremely enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.
**** and 3/4 stars!
