DETECTIVE COMICS#809
TITLE: To The Victor Go The Spoils

STORY:
It starts out with Batman interrogating Alex Kosov with threatening to have a train hit her. She tells him that "he's" at the Bilton. He then handcuffs her and pops her fake eye out. Then we watch a clip from a TV Show with Arturo Rodriguez interviewing a man named Aaron Black. They talk about the gang war and how it affected Gotham. Then they talk about Stephanie Brown, who Black was really upset about. At the batcave, Alfred gives Bruce a video tape from an anoymous person. It was a tape of the same show. When Bruce saw Black, he thought something was familiar about him. Then Bruce suits up and goes to talk to Leslie Thompkins. But to his surprise, she's not there. Nurse Jenkins told him that she resigned. He thens asks for the Stephanie Brown file, but Jenkins says that Dr. Vera Cesares had it. He went to her apartment to find her dead hanging from the wall with batarngs in her arms and chest with the word snitch written behind her in blood. He finds the Brown file and notices 2 pages missing. He then removes the batarangs and replaces them with knives and washed the word snitch off the wall. We go to Aaron Black who's getting in his car when "Batman" stops him and says he knows who he really is. Then, Joker shows up and says he know's who "Batman" really is too.

TITLE: Minor Discrepancies

STORY:
It starts out with "Batman" and Joker having a fight. Joker shoots him 4 times but he gets back up, and that's when the real Batman steps in. While Batman takes out Joker, the impostor gets away. Batman goes after him. Meanwhile, Arturo Rodriguez is talking to Stephanie Brown's mother about what she's going to do on the show. We go back to the impostor Batman who turns out to be Black Mask. Batman and him go at it and then Mask sets off some gas. Batman gets away just in time. He goes back to the Batcave to have Alfred analyze him and everythings normal. He then stays up all night researching and finds that someone aloud Stephanie to die. Aaron Black has another interview and says he was trying to be assassinated by BatMen, and calls Batman a sham. Commissioner Akins is watching and he then gets bombarded with questions from the press. We go back to Batman who goes to Carlo's bar for answer to where to find Black, Leslie, Black Mask, and Joker. He then takes them all out but leaves to make them think they ran him out, so they would gloat about it later and tell other stories.

TITLE: A Consequence of Truth

STORY:
It starts out with Black Mask getting a call talking about killing two birds with one stone, and Mask's the stone. Then we go to the memorial of the victims of the War Games, where Batman is putting flowers under a picture of Stephanie Brown. He then starts listening in on the people at Carlo's bar. They said Black Mask wasn't happy about Aaron Black being Ms. Chen's show. Batman then goes to Ms. Chen's and wants information, but he has to give her something back. We then go to Aaron Black, or should I say Cluemaster, looking at a picture of him and his family. Batman shows up and asks about the tape but Brown says he doesn't know about any tape or where Leslie Thompkins is. But he tells him to talk to his wife Crystal, who's appearing on Arturo's show. While she's being interviewed, "Batman" shows up and takes out Arturo and starts to attack Crystal. Arturo tries to interfere but gets thrown into the camera, which goes off. Then the real Batman shows up and pulls the mask off Black Mask. He then pulls out Stephanie's files amd sets them on fire, then he escapes. We then see Joker and Black Mask fighting. Joker says he took his favorite job, not running the mob, but killing Robin.

TITLE: Judgment At Gotham

STORY:
Joker and Black Mask start duking it out and Batman joins the fray. While Batman's pumiling Joker, Black Mask makes his escape but gets cut off by the cops. Joker then pulls out two toy guns with suction darts. Black Mask thinks it's a joke, but he ain't laughing when finds out it's covered with acid and stuck in his head. Luckily, Batman's suit is padded. Joker's pleading for mercy, but gets none when Batman clocks him. He hands them both over to the cops and gets out of there. The morning new shows the arrests of Joker, Alex Kosov, Arturo Rodriguez, and Black Mask, who escaped killing many in progress. Batman then pays a visit to Ms. Chen, who he still owes. He says she has her own show now and will interview a certain man who can leap tall buildings in a single bound. She asks Batman if she can kiss him, but he's long gone. In conclusion, Batman finally finds Leslie Thompkins in Africa. We find out she sent the tape and allowed Stepahine to die. She didn't want to be part of it anymore. Batman tells her he doesn't associate with murderers, she's in his criminal files with her status at large, and she will be arrested if she comes back to the U.S. THE END.
