You can't have a great writer without a great artist. Who do you think is the all time best Bat-Artist? Mine would be Jim Lee for one reason: HUSH.

if i could vote i'd have to go with Neal Adams, he defined the modern Batman. Jim Lee and Tim Sale are also up there, along with Russell Braun. i also loved Mike Mignola's work in Black and White, some of his best stuff ever in my eyes. and Eduardo Risso did a great job with "Broken City". but still Neal Adams is the one who started Batman in the direction he's gone. he molded him into what he looks like today.

ACK...Kelley Joes (worst of all time!!!) is listed but Jim Aparo is not? I have to agree though with the rest of the list...best of all time? Hard to say, changing times also changing artists. (vVv)

I went with Mazzucchelli. I really prefer the urban realism approach. It's part of why I love Gotham Central (which is a thread for another day).
Major props to Neal Adams and Marshall Rogers though.

As much as I like Jim Lee and wanted to pick him I went with other.
The reason is there are two "Batman Artists" that aren't here:
1-Jim Aparo
and
2-Norm Breyfogle

Jim Lee. His art is just gorgeous, and it makes me drool. ;D I also love Alex Ross's art, as it is so meticulously detailed and realistic, and Tim Sale's, since I just love his style, it's so unique.

I voted for Neal Adams. As stated above his artwork helped define the modern version of Batman.

Neal Adams. Frank Miller gets a lot of credit for bringing Batman back to his darker roots., but it was really Neal Adams and Denny O'Neil.

My vote was for Neal Adams, but Marshall Rogers is a close second. I never thought of Jim Aparo's work as outstanding, but I do miss it from time to time.

This was hard! I loved all of the artists but for me I had to vote for Tim Sale. I am not the biggest fan of the way he draws Batman but all most every other character he draws I feel that it could be the best representation of that character.

I voted for "other" and have to go with Norm Breyfogle, the man knows how to draw Batman, and all other Bat Characters, Scott McDaniel is pretty good as well.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think Bruce Timm and the guys who helped refine his designs (Glen Muakami and Darwyn Cooke) should get a vote - you can't beat simplicity, especially when done well.

(vVv) Banzaiboy, my sentiments exactly! Here, here! I'm not especially a fan of any listed there (but that's misleading since I've not heard of half of them), but I'll cite Norm Breyfogle, Barry Kitson, Tom Lyle, Jim Balent, and Graham Nolan as some of my favorites. Now what about a forum for our favorite WRITERS? Gotham95, good to see a familiar face. (Well, a familiar name, the face is decidedly different.)

I don't know if I can say "of all time" Is there really an end all for Batman art? I think that all interpretations are important. My feeling is that Lee's work is very iconic for the modern era...but Breyfogle and Aparo are so important.

APARO!!
He's my personal favorite. I thought he drew Batman in a way that gave him a "superhero" quality.
This is definitely a no win poll, i dont think there can be decided a greates of all time when it comes to drawing Batman.
