Good morning,
First off let me say that the last Batman comic until recently that I purchased was around the early 500 range. That being said I have been out of the loop on quite a few events and character developments and have a few of questions regarding certain Bat-villains:
1. When did the villain Firefly stop using a light based costume and become a pyromaniac? Was this because of the character development on the animated series? What comics has he appeared in using this new persona?
2. When did the villain Lock-up first appear in a Bat-man comic? What issues does he appear in? Has he appeared in anything lately?
3. What is the best single issue/issues/one-shot/mini-series/whatever featuring the Scarecrow?
4. Are villains such as Signalman, Kite-man, Gentleman Ghost or Charaxes (is he even a Batman villain any more) used any more?
Thank you for your help.
David

He first appeared in Robin#23 in 1995. Haven't seen him lately. 3. There's a good story in Batman: Haunted Knight. And another story is the 5 part "Terror", now in TPB form. 4. Nope.

both signal man and kite man were in Gotham Knights # 33. Gentleman Ghost could never really be considered a batman villain, due to his link to hawkman, and Charaxes hasn't been seen since Robin (i believe its 112) when he gave birth.
and Firefly (Garfield Lynns) has always been an arsonist, you're thinking of the original Firefly (Ted Carson).

Wasn't the original Firefly called "Firebug''?

no, Firebug is a completely different character, the original Firebug is Joey Rigger, he then sold his suit to Harlan Combs who became Firebug in the first arc of Gotham Central and is the current Firebug. Ted Carson was the original Firefly who was followed by the current Firefly, Garfield Lynns.
