Could I get War Drums, and not worry about War Games? Would that still be good?
Because it seems that I can easily ignore War Games and go on to War Crimes once its released.

Not really, no. You gotta go the Full Monty, as it were.

well it is the main part of the story, drums is just leading up to it so to get the whole story you would need to read all the parts but it is an interesting story so its not a bad thing to have to read it

Drums is the prologue. Crimes is the epilogue. Games is the actual story. It's an OK story, tho it drags in places.

With so many books, I can't really get all of them. If there's a way to do this easier, then I want to know it.
Too bad theres no novel of this.

Personally, I'd have lived if I'd never read these. They were OK but not worth breaking the bank over.

I've been told by someone to get Drums and get ONLY Act Three of War Games. Because he says that's the story wheer the event happened and the first two acts are recapped, that I don't really need acts one-two.
Is this true?

well they are recapped a little and you would probably get the big points from the other books but to actually get the whole story you would have to read them all. so I would suggest buying one book at a time and just save up till you can get the next one. or just buy a different tpb/graphic novel thats just a one shot with the entire story.sorry if this wasnt helpful

Personally, I'd just get the War Games books. It's really the main story of these three.

I don't know what you've read, but there are definitely better stories out there. Games, etc., isn't bad, it just isn't worth losing sleep over.

If you don't have it, you should get HUSH, or one of the three Loeb/Sale books.

I have HUSH, DKR, DKSA, Year One, Man who Laughs, TLH & DV. Including Superman/Batman from the Public Enemies arc to the current With the Vengeance arc. All Star Batman & Robin as well with the manga Child Of Dreams and the Batman comics from 1939-1940.
I have read big events like Knightfall and No Man's Land. The latest that I have is the Under the Hood and the recent Batman issues following that.
I have read others like Wonder Woman and Teen Titans, and a few issues on Catwoman. I have followed and am up-to-date with whats happening on the new Infinite Crisis.
Superman for me isn't in any Top Three or Five lists, its under those. All Star Superman rocks, and Godfall was pretty good to read. Once OYL starts. then I'll start off with no problem. Unless OYL does something I would consider terrible, then I'll stop.
Yes I have read alot more than what you would think since I'm talking about War Drums/Games. But for stories like HUSH and Crisis, I ask questions since these are big events and important for the character's lives and are really, REALLY, big.

I really think it all depends on what you look for when reading a Batman story.
-- If you're really into continuity and big events, then I'd say you should at some point take the plunge on the whole Drums/Games/Crimes saga.
-- If you're more interested in interesting storytelling but are not that terribly interested in the latest twists and turns, you're probably better off looking elsewhere.
For a different take, I recommend the Batman: Tales of the Demon TPB, which features the original Ra's storyline from the early '70s. I'd also recommend the Batman: Strange Apparitions TPB, which is a classic from the late '70s. Of the more modern stories, the two Gotham Central TPBs are excellent.
