Very curious:
Do you plan on reading 52 and making the weekly commitment?
I'm undecided myself.
What are your thoughts?

I won't read it, but I think we should start a 52 talkback thread when it comes out.

I most likely wont. A weekly book at $2.50 a pop is a bit too much for me.

I think 52 sounds very promising, and will be very interesting, but I simply won't be able to keep up, or shell out the cash. I think we should start a 52 talkback thread when it comes out. Good idea. Each week, people who've read the titles can give in-depth summaries and info. That way, those of us who can't keep up with this kind of thing will know what's happening. I know the trades won't be out for a very long time, but if I read 52, that'll be how.

Most of the DC title will be going One Year Later. 52 is a weekly series that will fill in what happened in that year. The series will last 52 weeks and have 52 issues.

Thanks, I think I will skip this one as well and perhaps wait for the TBP to come out on this one... Oh one more question is this simpy titled 52 Weeks or will this 52 weeks run through each Heroes comic book, like Batman, Superman, Teen Titans, etc...?

It's titled "52" - it'll be out every week - giving DC a huge potential to make some $ on this series - not to mention the regular books that survive the crisis - those, as you know, will all jump a year ahead - thus the One Year Later (OYL) story lines.
As to will I read it or not, yes, I'll read it - I won't buy it though. There's a difference. 52 issues x $2.50 = $130.00 - I've got lots of LEGOs to buy this year and an extra $130 on comics just doesn't figure into the equation. So, I'll read it in the shop and put it back on the shelf.

Since there are 52 issues, it'll probably be broken down into several separate TPB's - I don't remember how many issues Knightfall had, but there are several TPB's for that story as well.

DC says they won't release TPBs until it's complete, which means at least a year from May (more likely June 2007 or later is my guess).
I gotta say I'm having a tough time deciding whether I'm interested enough. The featured characters don't interest me all that much but at the same time I'd like to know how the whole DCU will tie together.
It's a tough commitment to make.

i guess i am the only one to actually want to read this one. lol i plan on picking it up although batman will not be in it. our beloved detective will be "gone" somee where and the question will be in his place in gotham. sounds to weird for me not to read. i would like to know why batman is not present.
then again, most of the big names are in theory taking a year off and i am not sure why!

I almost feel obligated to do so, because of the changes going on. After all, I have a site devoted to Catwoman (Catfan's Feline Fatale Follies). I am sorry to hear that JLA, Batgirl and Wonder Woman got canned.

You do know that if you decide to get TPBs of this (if it ever gets there), you would have to get 13 books. Each carrying 4 weeks.
So I guess each book would be called 52 MONTH 1, 2, etc.
I would get it because if something happens in OYL that I don't know how and why, 52 would likely expalin it.

I think I'm gonna roll the dice and pass, hoping I'll be able to keep up via the Internet and sites like this.
I never read the minis leading up to Infinite Crisis but I'm fairly clear on what's what having read IC and the DC crisis counseling.

Maybe I will get 52, if only because it will run cheaper than the Sunday New York Times.

I don't feel any compelling need to find out what happened to the DCU in the year between Infinite Crisis and OYL on a weekly basis. The trades of 52 will work just fine for me.
