ALL CANCELLED?

Rumours from the DC Subscription department have caused all sorts of kerfuffles, telling subscribers that "All Star Batman And Robin The Boy Wonder" have been cancelled. Worried DC readers who called up the department, hoping that maybe they meant that the book just wasn't available from the subscription department (and with their schedules who could blame them looking to replace them with something a bit more regular) were told, no, actually, that while "All Star Superman" will continue, just not from the subscription service, "All Star Batman" has been totally cancelled from issue 5.

Sounded like misinformation to me. Titan Magazines will certainly think so, as they've started serialising Miller and Lee's title along with Morrison and Kubert's "Batman" run and "Superman/Batman" in a new "Batman Legends" monthly newstand magazine in the UK, which in no way resembled the almost entirely identical "Batman Legends" book that Panini used to publish until last month when they lost the DC license to Titan.



Americans, watch for it on eBay any day now.

A quick e-mail to DC confirms what seemed most likely - that "All Star Batman" isn't cancelled. The subscription department got it wrong. Expect someone over there to be given a quiet word.

Looks like they'ed rather have a satisfied artist than a satisfied fanbase. It takes Jim way too long to draw one book. I mean, issue 4 was what, 10 pages long? he spent all his time on an unneeded 5 page foldout spread.

I've just read the four issues and loved them, but I'm disappointed to see all these articles about troubles and cancellation rumors. I'm glad to see that they want the comic to continue, but it sure seems lik it's not going to, which is extremely unfortunate, IMO.

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been cancelled. last night at the DC Panel, Dan Didio said issue five is finished and issue 6 is almost done. check it out at newsarama. this book has been in development hell, which i can only hope is due to rewrites. fan backlash on this book has been so brutal, i hope frank miller just scrapped what he had planned and went in a different direction. if i was him, i would just flash-forward the book a year or so, to when dick is robin already instead of spending so much time on the development of his character. i mean, four issues over the span of one night??? at that rate, it'll be issue five thousand before he becomes robin, and we'll all be dead because it'll be the year 3047. the only way to save this book is to change it BIG TIME. no one at my comic shop gives a damn about the book, and people are actually frowned upon when they buy it. i'll get issue five to see what's going on, but if it's the same stuff, i'm for sure not getting issue 6.

the dc website lists issue 5 due out on May 16. which is still a long time away.

Yes, spanning the one night across four issues was extreme, also we still don't even know why Grayson's parents were both killed and then he was next (of course, we all have ideas . It sounds like it will pick up again, but I hope they can get more issues out than every six months or more.... I am looking forward to issue 5.

just down a few more to see pictures of the covers of issues 5, 6, & 7 (I think those
are the numbers). Issue 5 comes out in just a few weeks!!!!
