I'm reading the novelization of "52" right now, It's pretty good. I found "crisis" and "infinite crisis" confusing as hell!!

Enough! Although I liked Infinite Crisis, this continuing "event" driven series is just one of the reasons comics felt a backlash in the mid 1990's. All this does is feed on current fans. It does nothing to draw in new fans. And the problem with that is even hard core fans have a finite level of funds.

After months of those teaser images, we finally have learned what Countdown has been leading to: I haven't been reading this new weekly series, but can I read anything into the fact that Aquaman or the Atom aren't included in this pic? As soon as I this I immediately thought of the original Super Friends cartoon and Aquaman or Atom were in the series... Maybe I am reading to much into it but maybe one of them dies.

I'm glad Grant's writing this instead of those talentless hacks on countdown. This should be a good series

I'm glad Grant's writing this instead of those talentless hacks on countdown. This should be a good series i think most people, myself included, would disagree with you about Paul Dini being a talentless hack. especially on this board.

Countdown has really picked up but this is what I can't wait for! I think we're in for a wild ride with Final Crisis although Grant's reputation with conclusions concerns me a bit but that's a ways off.

Yeah, I got an issue from my batman subscription the other day, and it said it's supposed to go hand in hand with Final Crisis but most suprisingly, on the cover it said Batman R.I.P.!!!! What's this all about? Please tell me they're not killing Batman off! And if they are, please tell me they are planning to bring him back!!

What's this all about? Please tell me they're not killing Batman off! Final Crisis is mainly about Darkseid heralding the coming of the Fifth World Gods. Batman: RIP is a horrible storyline that is tying into Final Crisis alittle bit and is supposed to tie up the loose ends from Morrison's so far. Batman is not dying, never was set to die, and it's just the name of the storyline, mostly to garner publicity. the only high mark of this arc will be the return of Hush, which will take place in a sub arc in Detective Comics titled, "The Return of Hush". here's the Batman:R.I.P. thread: legionsofgotham.proboards70.com/index.cgi?board=comics&action=display&thread=4939

He was a gimmick character who should have died at the end of the first "Hush" series.

What more can possibly be done with Hush? He was a gimmick character who should have died at the end of the first "Hush" series. for one, i hope we find out what happened with that pacemaker that was set to blow up. he was also behind the scenes for everything that was going on before OYL. i think Hush is a great character, and it's about time he makes a return. he's got alot of history with Joker, and with what happened to Joker it should be interesting to see how that all plays out. there's still stuff with Riddler, he knows who Batman is and knows him well. there's alot of ways that they can go. remember Hush was featured in Gotham Knights from issue 50 until the end of the series. he's become a main part of Batman's rogues gallery.

I guess my problem with Hush is the same I have with all the other bad guys who know Batman is Bruce Wayne - if they really want to destroy him, the only logical end is for them to expose him to the world - but they never do; so what's the point of them knowing?

currently Hush, Bane, and Ra's are the only villains that know they are one and the same. you can also say that Deathstroke knows as well, as he knows who Nightwing is and knew from when he was Robin and seeing as he's the smartest character in the DC Universe i'm sure he was easily able to figure it out. and none of them would truly benefit from outing Batman. it also wouldnt really harm Batman as "Bruce Wayne: Fugitive" showed us, he'd still operate as Batman. Calculator may know as well, but it's never been shown that he knows.
