How could this be a Batman title? We've never even heard of this guy and he's automatically associated with Batman because he's in Gotham and stalks the night? YOU HAVE TO EARN THAT SPOT BEFORE YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A BAT-TITLE BUDDY.

I'm not sure what to make of this title; if he's vampire-like, then I really don't want to check it out. I might read it at the store but I'm not thinking of purchasing it, yet.

I'm actually intrigued. I wanna see if it's an original story, or just an amalgam of Blade and Forever Knight. I have a feeling it's the latter, but I'm not purchasing it either. I'll read reviews and comments on-line when it comes out

I checked out issue 1 and it was okay; I'll have to look at a few more issues before I swing for or against. I thought the art went with the story pretty well and the character, Simon Dark, seems like he could be quite interesting.

its clearly labelled as a batman title at dccomics.com the first few issues (at least from descriptions) have no bat man characters, villains or heroes i'm sure they will meet soon enough though... batman will probobly try to take him down he kills people obviously in the preview kills bad guys tho

He does kill bad guys, and he seems friendly with everyone else. However, Batman wouldn't let a killer roam his city, good guy or bad guy. I would expect Batman and Simon Dark to cross paths sometime, but it may be a few issues of still back story for the character before the tough guys come calling.

Maybe this is happening while Batman's overseas with Nightwing and Robin fighting the newly resurrected Ra's Al Ghul. (At least I assume they're overseas, I mean, look at that outfit Bats is wearing.) As soon as they get back, they'll deal with Dark.

The only relation to Batman I saw in the first issue was it takes place in Gotham City; I would assume we'll see more on the connection to "an ongoing batman title" once the next few issues come out...I would think.

It's not an ongoing Bat-book. It's just a zombie-ish/Leatherface esq. vigilante in Gotham City. The original Green Lantern was based in Gotham City & that wasn't considered a Bat title.
I liked issue 1 a tremendous lot, I didn't get a chance to pic up issue 2, though.

Sorry for double posting, but I want to try & keep this thread alive.
I picked up issue 3 yesterday. Scott Hampton's art didn't seem quite as good as it was in 1&2 but the story is still excellent. I hope they can keep the quality up to par for the rest of the series.

I've checked out the issues so far and have found it all very interesting. I'll keep checking this title out for the moment.

Yeah, I was skeptical at first, but I'm really digging this book right now.
