Okay this threads gonna be about your favourite 5 artists ever also Mods sorry if this has been posted before I just have to go out so I posting this quickly 1) Jim Lee I think his art has influenced me the most not in the excact format as I do realistic poses and everything but to do a quick sketch first and everything really helped 2) Alex Ross His realistic drawings really helped to define my own art style aswell as Jim Lee so these two had to be in my top 2! 3) Andy Kubert I really think he's got talent alot of people can never match he does nearly every picture pose etc. perfectly in my eyes! 4) The people who did how to draw the marvel way When I started to draw this book helped me alot. How to start from lines to making a really good picture. So I would have to thank everyone who put their idea's into this book but especially to John Buscema for doing the art! 5) Wow this is hard but it'll have to be David from batman: year one! His art on the comic was great! I have the one were there is the sketch book and everything and I see how talented he is. It also helps to see how scripts are laid out!! well folks thats mine post yours here

i think jim lee is a little overrated. batman and superman's face are interchangeable, and lex luthor and harvey dent were impossible to tell apart. i hate his joker design. but i agree, the man is a legend. i'm just tired of ppl being like, 'BEST ARTIST EVER! it's okay for these guys to have flaws and still be amazing

I have a poster of the combined covers from All-Star Batman and Robin #1 hanging over my tv and it just looks amazing, can't beat Jim Lee.

I really never cared about artists. For me it was always about the writer. But I will tell you this. I cannot stand Alex Ross's work. He is too realistic and cannot draw a beautiful woman. Everytime he tries they end up looking manly.

Everytime he tries they end up looking manly. Well everyone has the preferences. For me, Im not Nec. all about "realism". IMO Ross manages to transend and goes beyond simple realsm. Almost "hyper realsitic". Makes the impossible appear believable. I also think his females can be fantastic... such as Wonder Woman (both Beautiful and powerful). Now John Byrne is one who cannot draw a female to save his life (or a background for that matter but thats out of lazyness I think).
