These figures are so cool!!! Now could someone please clear this up for me, with the six in. figs will the line consist of: Batman Unmasked Batman The Joker Goon Two-Face ?? Thanks-- Im editing my post because I was just over at AFI where they have a ton of new images. The only figs being shown as the 6" collectors line is the Goon, Joker and Batman. The unmasked Batman is being labeled on the package as a chase figure. There is no info on the Demon Bat tho on whether it will be a standard or chase figure.
Deathstroke and Firefly are part of the 5" line.
Also of note, on the back of ne of the 5" packages it shows a repainted Joker in a green outfit instead of purple, a repaint already?lol and also Scarecrow is nothing more than a rerelease of the Begins one.Isn't there supposed to be a Ra's/Ducard figure too?

Well, the intial "rumor" was that the collectors line was suppose to feature the "ispired by" characters, but it looks like that was false. Also that, yes, there was going to be updated versions of Ra's, Ducard, and Scarecrow. However there is a pic of the Begins Scarecrow on the back of the 5" package. Unless they are saving something for Comic Con but with a movie tie in line your release time is limited before interest begins to fade.

Yes, but there was the fake Ra's al Ghul that was killed before the monastary blew up.

Oh for cryin' out loud. You dont think we know that!?
We're talking about the friggin' toy line! There was a Ra's and a Ducard. A Ken Wantanabe and a Liam Neeson figure. Do you always have to try and school everyone?.

I don't know why everyone thinks this line is so amazing. The 5 inch line looks like a total waste of plastic. Once again, there are about forty multi-colored Batmen, and the villains look entirely half-assed. They couldn't capture the Joker's likeness in the five inch line? How lazy is that? Their decision to re-use the Scarecrow from the Begins line is also a joke, especially if they're not going to include a "better" version in the collectors line. And if you want to talk about how much Mattel loves to siphon money from fans, just look at that Chase Bruce Wayne/ Batman figure. It's the same figure as the regular Batman, but with a Bruce Head. How hard would it have been to make that head interchangeable? Hell, the Marvel Legends line does it all the time. I wonder why that line sells more than Mattel's DC-based line. Oh, that's right-- because they don't try to rape their customers' wallets.
Mattel has gone on and on about how they're going to have so many new and exciting collecting opportunities for fans with the TDK toy line, yet how many of us are actually going to see the collector's line in person? How many of us are going to go to stores like Wal-Mart and be forced to sift through hundreds of Yellow-Green Useless Action Batmen, only to never encounter some of the "good" figures? How many of us are going to be forced to pay outlandish, pocket-gouging prices on eBay or at comic book shops just so we can have these?
This is ridiculous.

Well, the intial "rumor" was that the collectors line was suppose to feature the "ispired by" characters, but it looks like that was false. Who ever said that? I reported on SHH back in like August, what I was told verbatim from the Mattel rep, and I said the "inspired" character figures ... and I specifically named a movie inspired Firefly figure, would be in the 5 inch line.

I don't know why everyone thinks this line is so amazing. Because of the amazing sculpt detail, accuracy to the movie, etc. They look utterly fantastic. As opposed to what other mass produced Batman toy line? Like what's your gauge for such a harsh and basically biased opinion? Just as there is ... wait for it ... in ANY Batman toy line. Pretty damn simple too, why would this even make you upset? Don't buy the star light / star bright colored Batman figures. They're not made to cater to you anyway ... I mean beyond that, you fail to mention the fact that there is basically 3 or 4 different versions of the black TDK bat-suit that are dead accurate. Why complain? Just buy the accurate Batman figures. What villain figure was half assed? Deadpool? Oustanding ... Firefly ... Amazing ... sneak peek of 5 inch Two-Face? Out of this world. The Joker ... yeah, I'll address that in a second. Huh? Are you dense? Blind? Or mentally retarded? I don't mean to come off as that offensive, but you can't be serious. The 5 inch Joker is possibly the best figure in the up-coming 5 inch line. It is as accurate as they could be given the 5 inch lines nature and intent. I asked the Mattel rep back in August about this, and he even told me for the 5 inch children line, to only expect about 75% of what you'd see in the movie and/or on the adult aimed Collector's Line. Even so, the only detail thats missing is basically they made his neck white as well as his face, and they didn't sculpt the gruesome scar on his face. Everything else is dead accurate. From the creepy lean posture of the Joker that you see in the TDK trailer, to the pocket chain watch, to the black eye makeup, to the excelletently sculpted crazy hair ... and even the smile and facial structure all match Heath's exactly. They just skipped around making the figure too frightening. And even in not slapping the actual cut scar onto the face of the figure, the essence is totally captured of Heath's TDK interp of the Joker. And I mean totally. And really, to me it even has a creepy vibe as a figure. They even managed to slap an accurate accessory. The rocket launcher he so lethally weilds in TDK out of the back of his 18 wheeler of horror. Seriously, I'll post a few comparison shots of the sculpt w/ TDK Joker images, and tell me it doesn't look just the same. If you want the gore like details, get the collectors line figure at your comic store, and skip the kid friendly version. Hell, we are lucky to even be getting a Joker figure. Did you know when I discussed this issue with the Mattel rep, they said as a company they had a serious dilemma onto whether or not they'd even be able to release products to children of this character? He's that dark, twisted, intense and disturbing in this movie that they thought they would have a hard time marketing it to children. That's why you're getting the slightly diluted version in the kid's line. You didn't read that article back the summer Heath was cast, where they showed a prototype figure of what the Joker was to look like in the movie to a child, and they were terrified? And it isn't just about his disturbing image, his actions in TDK only amplify his character ten fold. That, I can't defend, but it makes sense from a business perspective. I'm sure there will be kids who will buy it. Who said they weren't? Cause I was told they are ... there is going to be two waves of figures. 1st wave is Joker, Gotham Thug, TDK Batman ... 2nd wave is BEGINS Batman, Two-Face, Scarecrow and the mattel rep said if the line was successful they would go about making more characters from there. So don't make assumptions. $7 bucks is a sexual assault to a customer's wallet? ... if you're a grown man willing to shed cash for action figures, and I assume you do so with regularity, you shouldn't be complaining about this move. It's a business, they're in it to make money. If the $7 is gonna hit you that hard, sit this one out champ. Hell, if it $7 for an extra figure you'd probably drop some time or another is that big of a financial burdern, why don't you skip spending currency on things as frivelous as toys altogether?

You have to attack him because he doesnt think this is the end all of Batman toy lines? There is nothing earth shattering about these figures. They are nice figs, thats it. They're toys, not golden statues.
Also, thats Deathstroke, not Deadpool. ;D

Routine lecture time... Everyone is entitled their opinions and encouraged to share and express them. However; no one opinion is more important, valuable, nor wholly "correct" than any other. If we cannot express opinions without pointless bickering or insults, undue sarcasm or "preaching" (or anything else Admin finds unacceptable) then the thread will be closed and violations addressed more seriously. Thank you.
