Here are a few more repaints I've done with the 6" line. PJ Here's my version of the 4 Horsemen's Classic Batman... Close up... Blue/gray Zipline Batman repaint... black/gray Battle Armor Batman...this was the Batman from the mass market Superman 2-pack....I switched the boots, cowl, mask, & gloves with a Zipline Batman. and this is the Zipline from the parts switch... This is a repaint of the Batman in the Nightwing 2-pack... Martial Arts Batman repaint... Another Zipline Bats... Nightwing I removed the hair on his face and gave him holsters for his fighting sticks.... back.... Hydro-Suit Batman with boots. I removed the fins and gave him boots. I'm trying to figure out a way to display the fins with him. Hydro Suit front... Hydro Suit back... Tech Armor Batman - all I did was give him a wash and the larger cape on his shoulders... img55.photobucket.com/albums/v168/PJ322/Picture_479.jpg[/IMG] Mr. Freeze fix up. (inspired by Casimir's fixup) Freeze front... Freeze back...

Did it come with the figure or did you design it?
I really both HUSH Batamn and Zipline Batman, but I can't stand the Big pouchy belt he wears now. If he was really fighting some bad guys in a life or death struggle there's no way he would be hampered by such a huge belt.
Has anybody crafted a 70's style belt to replace these big belts? Id love to see that

Id love to see that The Batman was the blue & gray repaint of the Battle Armor Batman in the Superman 2-pack. The new belt was one of the straps/belts used to hold Bats in the changing chamber of Hasbro's many Wayne Mannor/Batcave playsets. Basically what I did was I just cut the spikes off the belt. I then took the strap and glued it to what was left of the Mattel belt. And then I repainted all the blue a darker shade and gave him a wash.

Those are great. How did you do the belt on the 4 Horsemen Classic Batman? Was it from another figure, or did you do some sculpting?

What does it mean to wash them?
|
|
|
Post by PJ on Jun 24, 2004 17:25:49 GMT -5
What does it mean to wash them? To shadow them to give them more depth. Basically you slightly dip your brush in whatever color you are shading them...then you dip the brush in water and paint the cuts of the muscles...the water will dilute the paint so it runs through the seems of the muscles. Once it drys you have a light wash over the figures... Then I just keep repeating it until I get the shade I want. PJ

whoah! great work! especially liking the hush-styled zipline, nightwing and mr freeze! the wash, ... they make the figures look even more dramatic ... but ... doesn't it make them look weird from different angles? just a question ... great work all in all though, keep it up!
