*This section is a recap of my Tale of Titans fanfic*
The original Teen Titans became the JLA. Superman was de-powered. Batman had been missing for 10 years. Bruce's son Thomas was Nightwing's partner Robin. Robin's mother was Talia. After many years, it had appeared as if Ras Al Ghul had returned. The JLA and the Titans confronted him only to find the face of Bruce Wayne behind the Demon Mask. Bruce's DNA had been spliced with Ras's through immersion into the Lazarus Pit. Bruce was a clone of sorts. ina battle with a non-powered Superman, on a platform suspended above the Pit, Bruce and Clark fell into the chemical mixture. the Bruce Wayne clone was killed, and the powers of the Pit rejuvenated Superman's powers. After returning to the Hall of Justice, Nightwing decided that Gotham needed a Batman. He resigned from the JLA. The next scene takes place at a press conference 2 weeks later.

The large, muscled figure at the podium began to speak. His large frame covered by a uniform that was legendary.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the press," he spoke, " It is my duty to inform you that the threat of the international terrorist, Ras Al Ghul, is finally ended. He perished after a oitched battle with the Justice League. It is also my duty to inform you that one of our members, Nightwing, was gravely injured."
Vesper Fairchild from Gotham spoke up, " Superman, will Nightwing be alright? Will Gotham still have a protector?"
Superman looked to the crowd, "Nightwing will recover fully from his injuries. Although he has resigned from the JLA and decided to return to private life."
James Olsen of the Daily Planet responded, "So does this mean that you've come out of retirement to rrejoin the JLA?"
Superman winked and smiled, " What do you think? Ladies anf gentlemen I bid you good day."
With that, the figure of Superman lifted effortlessly off the ground and soared into the sky.
Robin switched off the monitor, "Well Dick, how does it feel to see Nightwing retire?"
Dick Grayson stood and stared at the display case that held the uniform he wore after retiring as Robin. Nightwing was gone.
"It's kind of sad, really, but Gotham has been without a Batman for far too long," Dick said.
He stepped out from behind the display. The dark gray bodysuit was ornamented by a yellow utility belt and thigh pouches. the upper section of the torso was black and seemed to merge with the cowl and cape seemlesly. The gloves and boots matched the cowl in color. A modified symbol, in yellow, adorned the chest. Batman was reborn.
"Boys," an authoritative female voice called," The Night Signal has been lit. the Commissioner is calling for Nightwing."
Batman turned to see Julia Pennyworth, daughter of longtime Batt-ally Alfred; who took over as Wayne Manor's Chief of staff when her father finally retired.
"Thanks Julia," Robin said,"are we ready to go boss?"
The two costumed figures raced to a newly reconditioned Batmobile and roared off into the night.
The sleek, black, vehicle came to a stop in the alleyway behind the GCPD. Robin launched his grapple to the roof and ascended. Commissioner renee Montoya and Chief of Police Harvey Bullock watched for their allies. Robin appeared over the edge of the roof.
"Robin," the Commissioner asked, "where's Nightwing? is he alright?"
Robin responded, "He should recover 100%. But he won't be back."
"That's too bad," Bullock added,"he was a good joe."
Robin smiled, " I did bring an old friend by to say hello tonight."
With that, Montoya nd Bullock heard the slight rustling of cloth blowing in the wind. They turned to see a familiar shape. But one they hadn't seen in ten years.
"Good evening, Commisioner," the gravelly, familiar voice said.
"Batman?" she exclaimed, can it be, after all these years?"
"How do I know it's really you?" the skeptical Bullock added.
An effortless leap from the top of the access stairwell to Bullock's side brought Batman eye to eye with his doubter. He whispered into Bullock's ear. Bullock's eyes bugged out.
"He's the real deal alright," Bullock wiped his brow,"only the real Bats would know what he just told me."
The two caped forms headed for the roof's edge.
"Oh yeah, Commissioner?" Robin turned to add, "I think it's time that Gotham knows that their protector is back."
With that, Batman and Robin leapt from the roof and disappeared into the night.
