Straight from our contacts at Mattel yesterday:I’m excited to share some great news about Mattel’s Justice League Unlimited line. Due to overwhelming support from the fans, Mattel and Target are teaming up to bring an all new Collector’s Line to store shelves starting this August! 16 brand new figures along with collector requested repaints and reissues will be available in singles, 3-packs and 6 packs. Figures will be out in two waves. Each wave will consist of two 6-packs, two 3 packs and five single carded figures, some with brand new accessories. This line will be sold exclusively at Target stores starting Aug 1, 2008. At this time the line will be an in store exclusive only. Wave 1 will be revealed at New York Comic Con in April and Wave 2 will be shown at Comic Con San Diego in July. There may be a few other JLU surprises this year as well. But fans will just have to wait for the summer conventions to find out what! We are pleased to show the first 6-pack for Wave 1: Attack from Apokolips featuring Superman, Darkseid, Mr. Miracle, Lashina, Mantis and Forager. (see pics below!)Along with these figures, we are excited to announce that the line will also include several major MIA characters including The Question!*Note to collectors, these are not the final figures and we do plan to adjust Mantis’ cape color and Forager’s shield.

Atleast not for now. It's good to see that more of JLU is going to come out.

Hurrah! And they're Target exclusives, which is just fine, since Target is the only store in my area that even carries any Mattel DC lines, so I actually have a chance to get these. Meanwhile, I'm starting to see something of a pattern. If I make a custom figure of a character Mattel hasn't made...Mattel ends up making the figure. It happened with Bandai and the Teen Titans line a lot -- I made customs of Red X, Robin and Terra as Slade's apprentices, and soon afterward, Bandai put out figures of all three. Now Mattel's jumped on the bandwagon. I made my very own Question, and now Mattel plans to make one. I've also made my own Captain Marvel, and I'm working on Captain Atom. Wonder how long before either of those show up? Any suggestion of other figures I should make, in the hope that Mattel will produce better versions?

Im a little bit concerned about the availability now. With two 6pks planned per wave... thats a lot of shelf space for Target to commit to and maintain on a regular basis. Curious and hoping the 6pks dont get tough to find.

My experience with Target has been that they're pretty good about getting things on the shelves, but their "attention span" is rather limited. Every time a 6-pack has come out, and I grab it as soon as I see it, inevitably it's on sale within a month, and a couple weeks after that, it might be marked down even more. This was true of the first Doomsday pack, which wound up on an endcap, marked half-off, about a month after it first appeared on the usual shelf. Oddly enough, later, the exact same 6-pack was back on the normal shelf, mixed in with the repaint 6-pack, and back at full price. Go figure.
Granted, my experience is limited to one Target store, in a backwater little rural town, so it could just be that whoever is in charge of stocking the toy department here trigger-happy with the mark-down gun. I have noticed that, since Christmas, they've been restocking the JLU pegs a little more often (that is, more than once every 4-6 weeks). Hopefully this trend will continue.

Any chances of Giganta showing up in 10 inch form? That would end up being an exclusive 5pack.
