Has anyone successfully removed the upper half from the lower half at the waist of Mattel's comic-style Batman? Is it easy to reattach the parts? I want to remove the belt on mine and do a little customizing.
Thanks.

It might just be easier to cut the belt in the back were it can't be seen and switch them that way. For the pouched belt you can cut it right between the two pouches in the back. PJ

If all you want to do is change the belt just cut it off like PJ suggested.
The only way that I have found to separate the figure at the waist is to cut the belt off and pry it apart with a screwdriver. When you reassemble the figure you lose the waist articulation, but it gets the job done.
I had to do that to make my custom Begins Batman. Which I was happy to see that it isn't that far off from the actual suit.
If someone wants I can try to sketch how the waist is assembled from what I saw after separating the figure.

Darknight and PJ are right,be careful though. The last Belt i removed had a lot of Glue holding it in place and the removal had to be done slowly and carefully. I haven't tried separating the Torso fromm the waist yet though, looks a bit scary!

As for taking apart other parts of the Batman figures all I've ever removed were, head, cape, gloves, belt and lower legs at the knees. And all came of rather easily when heated with a hairdryer for a minute or two. PJ
