Love it Yes I agree the chin looks a little awkward from your middle drawing. I loved the one where you drew him from the side view that used to be your avatar. I want to draw Riddler too now for some reason XD I'll draw him tomorrow and try to post it here if I can...I dont have a scanner and my usb cords for my cameras are missing so I'll have to find it.

These are some really cool sketches. I have a request, participate in my Art contest for 20 karma points. I am really worried that I won't get any people to participate.

I like them,i can see how you're worried about the Chin.Pointy style Chins always can be awkward to get right but looking at your later Energy Blade pic you are definitely on the right track. I'm impressed, drawing anything past stick figures and i'm in real trouble.

Hrmm. Those are pretty goood. The energy blade one looks nice. Proportioning all savvy and what-not. ^_^ The outstreched hand looks particularly good. If I have one bit of constructive critizism for you it's this: if you enjoy drawing you ought to be developing your own style rather than mimicing someone elses. I know that's exactly what my own art teacher would say.

I know that's exactly what my own art teacher would say. I would create my own designed character if I didn't sketch what I see. I can draw Riddler anytime but it takes practice, tell you the truth more than anything I enjoy telling riddles, thus the Riddling board. ;D I like to draw but only in my spare time, I'm usually off looking for new The Batman updates for our 'The Batman' board. Believe me, once Riddler comes back on the air it will be my job to capture as many pictures, quotes, and ect.

rid that second one especially is really nicely colored. is that charcoal? colored pencil? computer generated? i'm curious. the shading in the coloring is very nice. please answer this for me.
dark knights, i don't have a scanner or even a printer, but i trot my drawings over to a place two blocks away and have office max scan them in. works pretty well. right now i've got a coupla bills to pay, so i'm thinking of doing that and walking the bills over there to drop in the post office box, and while i'm going to be doing that, i just might bring a few drawings along for the guys next door to scan in. the style of the drawings are not really for this crowd, so i don't know that i'll post many of them---maybe one or two, but... just a thought for you. have someone else scan stuff in. (although after a few more months of this, it will have been worth my while to buy a scanner myself! it's about a buck a pop to scan em in.)
rid, what do you do? some of yours look like photographs of drawings you scanned in, and some look like they were drawings scanned in, and some more look like you did em on the computer. let us know.

hmmmm......
that part where I said I just trotted over to a store in walking distance and they scan stuff in?
scratch that.
Their equipment changed and they can no longer do it. I had 9 by 12 pencil drawings, and on the previous equipment, the kid was able to scan it in at 600 dpi, color scan, and produce a file significantly less than 100K (they were around 20-35k actually!) that looked gorgeous. Lickably yummy, in fact.
well, they chucked that equipment, whatever it was, and can't do it with a file size less than 700k or so. So I drove all over town, and on the fourth place I visited, they were able to do it! whoo hooo! of course, it's going to cost quite a bit more, $5 a pop, but hey---they can do it. cool.
now I really need to consider the purchase of a scanner.....

Well I draw my pictures by looking at another, pretty much sketching. See my third pic, that is what it looks like about after I am done with sketching the character. Then I put in extra detail with my pencil, then theres the coloring, I do mine with color pencils (not Riddler's hair though my hand gets tired enough ) I use a Mark-A-Lot marker (they don't stink and they produce alot of ink) for Riddler's hair except in the energy blade pic, that's color pencil. Alot of the time when I sketch, I am tempted to mess up alot on the chin but it's fun to draw in my spare time although I like writing riddles slot more. Did that answer your question? Whoops forgot one, I scan my pictures and some I take pictures with a video camera.

golly..... i'm so embarrassed, I'm not going to post any of mine. i cheat. shamelessly. i go trolling the web and find photos i'd like to draw (and ok, yes, I do have a definite theme), and i get em printed out (don't have a printer either so that's a hike, too). then i bring them home and tape one up on my $127,000 lightbox (don't panic, its about 6 feet by 4 feet, and they threw in a free house) and tape a piece of drawing paper over it. I trace the major features, and that can range anywhere from one line indicating the position of the eye on the face to drawing every tooth I can see, if the mouth is open. then i take it down and attempt to fill in the shading, and sometimes I screw up even that. gaah. i hate talented people. yep, rid, that answered my questions. i hate you. in a friendly, admiring kind of way. (but i'm coming over to your house to break your pencils.)
