Why Batlaw, I do believe we're featured today... C. I'll be damned if you aint right!... although I gotta say I'm not only surprised by the number of entries but thoroughly impressed but humbled by virtually every one of them as well! Incredible work all around for sure, but I maintain that Casimir leads the pack! That Inque is seriously something special... and something I will be envious of and trying to copy for a long time to come!

Batlaw, you are too kind. We all done good! I dig your JLU Fire!
I'll have more details on my site soon, but the trick to Inque, as on so many figures, is to draw the pattern directly on the body first. It can be a bit difficult to wrap your brain around the curves from front to back, but better to mess up in pencil before paint.

Thanks Cas That is very true about the "curves" and similar designs. My main concern would be in any attempt to replicate your Inque's head though... I shudder : ) Ironically enough, my first thought/concept for the HG challenge was a Phantom Lady because of a recent jlu comic appearance lol (and still likely will one day?) I hessitated in making Fire cause I'm certain Mattel will make her, but everything else I could think of for the challenge using an HG woulda/coulda been quicker easier or *better using another base lol. So I gambled on not knowing which version Mattel will eventually go with? heres hoping they use her "fired up" design. At any rate, the slightly odd Red Rooster WW head just worked naturally well for Fire. Has a sort of "ethnic" facial structure and her ear's being on her jaw bone made for a convenient and perfect fit for her earings just "square em off" and voila.

Wow - all of the customs this year are really cool, but Casimir's entries are just stunning! Inque looks like she walked right out of the screen - how did you do it? Awesome.

Thanks, Wayneson. For Inque, once I had her sprayed with primer and then flat white, I penciled in her pattern. Drawing it first saves a lot of frustration later on. I used a lot of screen grabs and as many images of her as I could find to try and be as accurate as possible. I'd say I only had to guess at about 10% of the pattern. Other than that, it's all brush work.

While I admire all the skills involved in making this editions' collections, I gotta say it sure is Marvel heavy.

Thank you Casimir... For everything!
Some truly incredible submissions this go around. Plenty of awesome and inspiring goodness! Deffinate standouts include Casimir's Freedom Fighters (regardless of the fact he's all but ruined it for the rest of us who may have been considering making some of them lol)... the Xevos were a really fantastic and surprising entry. Any and all DCAU related entries, The League of Marvels, The Freeze and Hawkgirl challenges.. all supurb and as much a pleasure to view as it was to be a part of!
Props and thanks to everyone involved!

It was fun yet again, there are some definite standouts as others have said.LOG was well represented by Casimir and Batlaw and even i managed to sneak one in there. Some of our othr talented Customisers here should really consider an entry or 2 for the next one and get the DC representation up a bit more. Great job by Cas and Bobbi, looking forward to the next one already!
