Yes, I have seen it.
PLOT: The Flash must handle an onslaught of super-villains during the opening of a museum in his honor.
REVIEW: Flash and Substance is basically a Flash tribute episode. Maybe Timm and the guys did this once they heard news of the Flash DVD set. This isn't just about a tribute of The Flash and his museum, but a tribute to his villians as they get the DCAU treatment.
Mirrormaster, Trickster (voiced by former live action Trickster Mark Hamill), Captain Boomerang, and Captain Cold are appear as washed out old men who have been beaten by Flash numberous times. Seeing them together must be good for any fan of the Scarlet Speeder.
While Batman and Orion (who one understands and the other doesn't understand why Flash is who he is) appear as well, The Flash is focused character. The Flash Museum is an example of something personal to him. Not only that, a cameo of the Golden Age Flash's helmet is in the museum and Linda Park-West, Wally West's wife in the comics, appears in this episode. (Is it me or was that Cheif Scientist Barry Allen?)
Overall, this was a nice stand alone episode of JLU. A Flash episode is a nice addition to the DCAU.
Rating: 8/10

When did this happen? ? How did you get to see it? I must know. I want to see this episode so badly. I would be willing to watch the worst new episode of the season. I am going through JLU withdrawal. I need a fix.

Britain is so lucky. I guess I'll be waiting for another year (this might not be an exaggeration) for the exact same thing you just saw.

PLEASE do not discuss downloading episodes from the net in the forum. This is something that companies like WB are starting to crack down on and I don't want any of it here on LOG. If you choose to download eps, and must discuss it with another member, do so via PM.

This episode was fantastic!!! The difference in styles of Gotham and Central was awesome. I loved both bar scenes. Trickster was a real treat. This was the first time I had seen Wally without the costume in JLU (I don't know if he was featured in another episode). The Flash ring was great. I give this episode 10/10.

Good show. I didn't know Flash was that popular in his city. Batman was great in this too. The Kevin Conroy voice just gives you that vibe about Batman that just scares you.
Trickster was wacko. That's all I'm saying about that.
9.5/10

Awesome episode. Mark Hamill reprising his role as the Trickster was awesome. The bar scenes were the greatest. First all the villians sitting around talking about how their wives are gonna kill them and make them get real jobs if they dont bring money home. That was really funny. Then later when Batman, Orion, and Flash go to the bar and all the villians hightale it. I liked how Mirror Master was a complete pansy. IM already ready for the next few eps. Especially next weeks with Deadman. And then the 7 Soldiers of Victory.

Yes! I finally I see my show come back if only for a few more episodes. I loved this episode even if I knew only a little bit about Flash. Here's hoping the remaining episodes are this good.

I'm not a big Flash fan either, but I liked the idea for this ep, with the rogues gallery, Unlike everybody else, I thought the scene in the coffee shop with the villains talking about their wives was pretty cheesy, That's just me. I liked the Mark hamill touch. I was surprised Grodd wasn't in this ep

I totally dug it! Sure, there were some little things that I woulda preffered to have seen tweeked, here or there but nothing turned me off or damned the episode for me. As a stand alone purely Fun Ep... i thought it kicked booty and had much for everyone to enjoy!

No hyperbole here: This was one of the series' best episodes.
Random thoughts:
-- Mark Hamill as Trickster a la the live-action show was absolutely priceless. And the scene where Flash "interrogates" him in the bar was hilarious.
-- Picking Batman and Orion -- the hardest of the heroes -- to offset Flash provided great comic moments.
-- I loved how they showed how Flash interacted with the civilians. Superman is a like a god in Metropolis, Batman is one step above an urban legend in Gotham and Flash is everybody's buddy in Central City. That he knew so many people by their first name and what their situations were was very endearing.
-- I like how among the heroes, Flash is sort of the annoying younger brother but among the public he's adored. In a similar vein, he's always hitting on women who won't give him the time. But in Central City, he's completely unaware of his effect on the sexy newswoman.
-- I've always felt that the Flash had one of the most colorful Rogue's Galleries. At the same time, they've always seemed vaguely non-threatening, especially when compared to Batman's demented adversaries. This episode played with this idea in a very effective way. That they all hang out at the same bar -- and the Flash knows this and doesn't care unless they start acting up -- was a great bit.
-- This was one episode that showed me that the Flash could carry his own series -- if it stayed with this lighter tone.
-- When the time comes, I hope this ep gets a DVD commentary.
-- Nice Barry Allen homage, no?
What a joy to watch.
