Interesting choreography. For anyone else versed in swordfighting, what did you think of the shifting styles dorkman displayed? I thought it a little jarring that he would switch between European saber (or Form II Makashi) and Chinese longsword ready stances (closely associated with Form IV Ataru). Ryan's work in what appeared to be a Niman form was also fascinating, in that it seemed to embody the shifting unpredictability of the combination form and was physically weaker than the Form II.

I think this is a bit too deep. They seemed to be a couple of kids having fun and doing a better job than some.

I don't believe for a second that the one handed style is coincidental. Nor is the spacing involved in most of the footwork. Either they are really lucky as you imply or they knew something about it before they worked it out.

I saw this last week at ebaums and it was a pretty funny ending, and kind of expected one you got into it. Overall it was great choregraphy on those students ahd some good talent.

Wow that was pretty good, way better than the Star Wars movies I did in Digital Multimedia class. Come to think of it we didn't put too much sound effects in. Thanks for showing us Matt.

I must agree with Wavedash here... he is right I've dabbled in swordplay, mainly for when my school did "The Three Musketeers" this year, and we had this hilarious barscene when all the French guys, who should've had rapiers, only the musketeers had rapiers, Rochfort had a two-handed Claymore, three cardinal's guards had chinese longswords, me and four other cardinals guards had middle-eastern sabers, but the hilarious thing is that we all used them in the style of fencing, except Rochefort who had two use two hands... It was quite dangerous... But we all "fenced" to the music of the can-can... But I did notice some fencing in there.... The ending was cool, he came back with a red lightsaber

[shadow=purple,left,300]For a fan film, that was fantastic! A lot of those techniques would have been awesome in an actual SW film. Very funny ending, too. ;D
Thanks for sharing, Matt![/shadow]

I laughed.
Actually, the rolling on the ground bit was quite intense.
