[glow=green,2,300]I loved this issue!!!! I have allot of emotions for Batgirl in this story, I thought the story was amazing and the Batman Strikes crew did an awesome job! Ha, if Piera Coppola ever got a hold of this issue she'd love it! Wonderful job. I give it a 10 out of 10. By the way Chris my favorite page and or part was when Batgirl says 'New rule... don't touch the cowl' to Poison Ivy and hits her, but I have to feel bad for Ivy though. [/glow]

REVIEW: I gotta be honest; I never was interested with this comic title. I was enjoying the show, and while I heard good things about the comic spin-off, it wasn't really "up there" on my mind to get. However, my interest level on it was kicking up.
Then I caved. With my comics list ready, I decided to get the series. There was one problem: I wanted to start with the first issue then get the ones that were still new. But I couldn't find that issue anywhere and since its story wouldn't be connected to any issue today, there was no point in seaching for it. So I decided to wait for an issue whose cover mimiced something like a cover to a first issue, good to start. That cover was an action pose of Batman and Batgirl on Issue number 18.
The story: taking place possibily a week after Batgirl Begins Part 2, Batgirl is still learning the ropes and fighting on her own. Ivy comes back and takes over Gothamites after Gordon says that her place in Arkham "has to be". Its up to Batman and Batgirl to stop her once more.
This issue was pretty neat. For people who love the show: it provides them stories for times the show is on hitaus. For people who dislike the show, the comic provides them with more of a BTAS look and feel to settle them to like the series at least.
The comic has realisitic things like real guns, real police uniforms, and even more insight like the mention of Barbara's mother and more on Batman's side with the photo of him age....6-8 with his mom and dad. While its mentioned or at least thought of in the show, I've been thinking that the show hasn't been mentioning them directly.
Anyway, this was good. I guess this is the beginning of buying a new comic title series.
RATING: 9/10

I picked up my issue today, but I'm slammed with two research papers due this week, so I probably won't find time to read it until Saturday night...I'll be sure to post on it then!

Ok, I read the issue today.
Firstly, I love the Olan Soule reference Chris. NICE one. Also dug the Elfman sign. I have so much fun thumbing through issues trying to find your hidden Bat-references. Haven't seen any LoG ones lately (whistles) lol I really enjoyed the issue..I thought Bill did a great job on writing this one. VERY on-model both art and writing-wise. The story was a little deeper than the average issue. Heroic Age can color Batgirl right, but STILL can't figure out Batman. sigh.
Overall...I HIGHLY recommend this one...I give it 9/10

I liked the issue. I thought #17 was a little better but I enjoyed the comic finally introducing Batgirl along with Gordon into it.
