[shadow=red,left,300]Discuss today's episode "The Cat & The Bat here!
All in all, a great episode. There seems to be no changes to Catwoman as compared to her previous incarnations, with the exception of the costume. The writers have succeeded in capturing the Bat/Cat chemistry quite well. The big surprise in this episode was Catwoman stealing the utility belt. It was nice to see one of Batman's rogues using his own high tech weaponary against him, albeit it was unintentional. This shows that while the Batwave system is an invaluable tool in Batman's mission, it's not entirely flawless.
The ending was perfect, seeing Catwoman and Batman fighting side by side. They perfectly complimented one another, as well as they should.
Again, great episode..can't wait until next Saturday! [/shadow]

[shadow=purple,left,300]I thought that this was a pretty good portrayal of Catwoman. I can't say that it is the best, but none the less, this is at least one of the best. The voice was purrfect (corny, I know) and the new costume works well with the show. "The Cat and the Bat" moved, at first, slowly, but as it picked up, it was an excellent episode. So far, "The Batman" has yet to disappoint me. I give it a 9/10.
October 16 had better come sooner than later...[/shadow]

When Catwoman stole Batman belt and began to toy around with it. I was laughin my head off. Batman fighting something he built and trying to catch the batmobile.
Great episode.

[shadow=blue,left,300]I agree with Bullock, that they got the chemistry right between Catwoman and Batman. A also enjoyed how Catwoman unintentionally used Bats stuff against him. Keep the cool episodes coming. Godd work![/shadow]

[shadow=red,left,300]Sleek, slick....I like the new Catwoman. Batman was kinda bulked up to me on this episode. Overall it was pretty good...Bane still rules, though...for right now.

I liked this episode. I thought it was well written. Like others have said, I enjoyed the interaction between Batman and Catwoman. I really enjoyed seeing the Batbot - we need a 'toon accurate version of this! If we get one, it better be blue...
Seeing one of the "families" of Gotham was interesting too. I hope we see more of the crime families in future episodes. The head of the clan? that Catwoman was stealing the statue from looked like Toru (the big fat guy on Jackie Chan) or his mom. It made me giggle. ;D
Great job again to Matsuda and co!

I liked this ep,
My favorite thing was the Batman Returns-esque music they played when Catwoman was on the screen. You could tell this ep was heavily influenced by Batman Returns. I loved how they took a look at the life of Selina at the begining. With her cats shopping sprees and penthouse.
The only the I dont like about this Catwoman are the huge ears on the outfit. Although seeing the Batbot was rebuilt again was cool.

It was great! I thought Batman's tech fghting him was hysterical, and I especially enjoyed Batbot's "guest appearance." Catwoman was perfect. Something I thought was also funny was when Catwoman says, "I gave you your belt," and batman, in an anoyed tone, says, " most of it..." I agree tht Bane still rules, but this ep was as close in greatness to Traction as it could get. I give it a 9.5/10!

good episode, i really liked it. i, too, noticed the Returns influence, but with the catwoman music. there seems to be afew things in this series that are influenced by Returns. which is fine by me.
keep up the good work.

[shadow=blue,left,300]Another fantastic episode. This version of Catwoman is one that I have absolutely no problems with. As Bullock mentioned, the changes to her for "The Batman" are nothing drastic, nor did they need to be. She was depicted perfectly! And I love the costume!
Gina Gershon's voice work was top notch. She seemed very comfortable as Selina. Just as good, if not better than anyone who as portrayed the character before.
The story was excellent! Every week the writing continues to get stronger, doing more and more justice to the mythos. I really enjoy the fact that Batman's tools for war are NOT flawless (ulitility belt, Batwave). He makes the mistakes that one would expect of a younger hero. It's like we are watching him "grow up" before our eyes.
The Batwave is starting to grow on me!!
It was good to see the Batbot again, albiet because Selina was accidently causing it's malfunction.
Overall, an outstanding effort that made this Bat-fan very happy! [/shadow]

[glow=red,2,300]As many others have said, it was a great episode. Catwoman was great and good voice work. One thing i loved about the episode was getting to see the new batcycle perform. The car chase was good and i thought it was hillarious when he drives into the batcave with a circle hole in his window and Alfred's response. my favorite part is the end with the ninjas!NINJAS!![/glow]

people like to make the connection that Bruce looks like the animated Jackie Chan... so how long until people start saying Catwoman is Viper?
also the asian design influences in Gotham are getting to be a bit much... to me it feels like they're either trying too hard to get an 'anime' feel by making the incidental characters and backgrounds asian themed, or that Jeff and the Background designers decided to just reuse their Jack Chan Adventures reference photos for this series too rather then doing more research.... I guess it's not a bad thing, the asian design influences, I just wish they'd use a few other cultural reigions now and then too (persoally I like Aztec/Mayan designs... and they could have made Catwoman's apartment buliding Egyptian themed)
so anyway, I liked this episode, it was fun. I give it 3 stars (out of a possible 3.5)

Gotham must be in Asia, with the amount of ninjas, martial arts, and the cops uniforms looking like Chinese Red Army ones.
This is the final episode of this show I'm going to watch. Liked the Edge's theme. The animation is ok (some cool stuff, some cheap anime "squiggly line background" shortcuts) The Batman design is cool. Hate every other design (Alfred, Catwoman, and the Batmobile are ok). The writing is utterly horrible. No plots, everyone kung-fu fights, blushably bad/goofy dialogue, and pretty much mindless. I would have preffered a drastic departure from the comics and exploring new ground over generic rehashes of Catwoman stealing priceless cat art, fights Batman, defeated, repeat. I can't believe this is made for anyone over 8 to enjoy, storywise.
The plot used to be where villains that couldn't kung-fu fight Batman still managed to challenge him, rather than MTV smach cut fight scenes strung together for 22 minutes. Hope the new movie is not like this or there will be another 6 or 7 years before the can do another Batman movie.

I thought this episode was great, and captured Catwoman's personality perfectly, I also loved the chemistry between Batman and Catwoman, this could have been one of, if not the best episodes so far, they seem to get better, as the show goes on and week by week.

[shadow=green,left,300]You're certainly entitled to your opinion, and not everyone is going to like it, but this show was trying to get to the essence of each villian, and I think they've done that. Yes, they are appealing to a new, younger generation of kids, not us. We are NOT the target audience. Does that mean we can't chill out and enjoy it anyway? For most of us, the answer is yes. Its sad that some fans are so uptight about such things.[/shadow]

The design influence in Gotham isn't asian at all. It's clearly designed from 1920's Chicago mixed with Prague. The Byzantine architecture in the skyline also doesn't look very asian. That's my two cents.

All I have to say, is simply "Wow". That sums it up right there. In my opinion, the best episode yet, and I think that she is THE BEST animated Catwoman design yet also. This episode really pushes the Bats/Catwoman relationship and is perfect foreshadowing futher "relationships". Kudos once again Matsuda, and The Batman team!

another great ep!
my ONE problem was catwoman's costume. ears too big, cowl neck is dated/ ugly, and gave her a "pencil neck". the red accents are unattractive too. the "whip as a tail" didn't sit well either.
can't wait to see her return; once a week is NOT enough for this show!
wasn't the old animated series on every day?

Anyone else notice the Utility belt mistake? It was when they showed Bruce getting dressed he was putting on his glove and you saw the utility belt on him..then the next scene they showed him putting on the utility belt.
I really enjoyed this episode. Although riding the Batcycle off the bridge was already done in BTAS. (It was either a Two-Face episode or Manbat one) Though it did look better in this one. Still it was a very enjoyable episode. PJ

Overall a very good episode. Like some others have mentioned the Catwoman character stayed true to her comic roots as opposed to some of the more radical changes we've seen in the other villains. I thought the scenes of Catwoman controlling the Batbot and batmobile were pretty funny but I would think that Batman would be able to shut everything down just in case something like this happened. Gina Gershon did an excellent job as the voice of Catwoman. I thought Alfred's line about renaming the Batcave the Catcave was pretty corny. Once again the animation and the fight scenes were fantastic and I loved the scene when Batman is chasing Catwoman over the rooftops and she thinks she's lost him only to have him appear right in front of her, now that's classic Batman. I'm glad some other's on the board noticed the Batman Returns type music used for Catwoman, I thought it was a nice touch. All in All I was pleased with this episode and with the way this show is progressing. I did have one major problem with this episode though, where exactly did the pictures of Batman and Catwoman used on the front page of the newspaper come from, if they were blurry shots of them jumping across rooftops that would be one thing but they were perfectly clear headshots, I just thought that was a little ridiculous.

Catwoman was great in this episode. I am continually amazed and loving the Gotham City look. I sure missed Ethan in this episode. I loved the Yakuza in this episode as we still seein this episode and in "Traction" with Bane regular crime bosses and not all super-villians. You know as this series progressesand see more episodes of Catwoman I hope we see a spin-off series "The Catwoman" . Bring on The Catwoman! The Ceb-Man!

Det27, i agree with you. just because one of us does not like this show does no warrant "digs". i have noticed this since the series started. however i don't think Matt was doing this to you. he was just trying to explain the concept of this show and why it's being done the way it is. just in case you didn't know the creaters intentions for this show. now, saying that, i personally don't love the show. i do watch it just to get a half hour of batman. it's okay for what it is. however, my son is 9 and he also doesn't love it, nor do his friends. they think some of the stuff is corny. remember people, TAS was on cartoon network for awhile and batman beyond isn't that old either. some of these kids did see those shows, so they themselves already have preconceived notions about batman. my son likes TAS better, as do his friends.
bottom line, just because there is an incarnation of batman doesn't mean we have to like it. we are all batfans, just because not all of us "love" a version doesn't mean we're not "loyal" to the character. we are going to have different opinions, this is life. deal with it.
