& As to that reamark about the show being crappy I smite thee Nightshade. hmm, i dont recall saying that the show is crappy. i really liked the Laughing Bat episode. Joker in the bat costume was creepy, we never seen that before. there were aspects from the Batgirl episode that i liked (as stated) and things i didnt like (as stated). overall the things i didnt like outweighed what i did like. therefore the 6/10 i gave it. i was honest and fair with my review of this episode from my p.o.v. im sorry that it wasnt what the majority of this board felt, but i thought everyones opinion on here meant something. guess thats why my karma dropped 4 points yesterday.

^ The subject is pretty sensitive at LOG since "The Batman" crew actually view and post here. Still, it takes guts to post an opinion that's different from the majority. Although I don't agree with you about the show, I thought you were somewhat fair in your review and I understood your opinion. A lot worse comments about the show have been made on other forums that simply insult the show for being different and don't back their statements up with anything. Yours wasn't one of them and your karma should not go down just because you don't have the same opinion as everyone else. Here's a hero to compensate.

As admin and owner, I can say that ALL opinions, whether good or bad, are welcome. All we ask is that you present your feelings in a constructive way, not just to be negative. And people, niteshade did just that. There was NOTHING wrong with his post. It was presented in a very mature and constructive manner.
The comments of one person don't constitute the feelings of LoG niteshade. There is no popular or unpopular response...be truthful, be mature, try to be balanced, and your opinions are respected. If people post like children and say "the show sucks" or something equally as eloquent, then perhaps they won't be as highly regarded, lol. But you have done nothing wrong in any of our eyes and I thank you for your opinions!
....and stop taking the karma thing so personally guys! its supposed to be for fun.

I just wanted to chime in about the new theme - I honestly thought it was pretty ridiculous. I mean, why would you throw away a moody, memorable theme by THE EDGE?! I knew a new theme was coming, but I had to laugh when I heard it. I felt like I was watching the Munsters. It just sounded a bit cluttered and mucky and ...strange.
I donno, maybe I'm just biased, seeing how I'm a big U2 fan as well...

I can understand that Archangel. Personally, I loved the original theme, and thought it was perfect....but they wanted to freshen things up a bit. sigh. I LOVED the Edge theme...yes, even the little "the batman" at the end, lol. this new one is odd, I know, but after a few months, like I said, its not so bad.

We really do welcome positive and negative reviews! Most people on the boards don't seem to like the main title, but like Matt said give it a chance it does grow on you. If I remember correctly, most people didn't like the first theme right off the bat either. I can't wait for you all to see part two, I think it's a great conclusion to the two parter and a great beginning to the rest of the series. I'm a huge fan of episode three as well, it is hilariously deranged.

First, let me say that the kids absolutely loved this episode, in particular Becca, the nine year-old. She instantly latched onto the Batgirl character, so I would say "mission accomplished" in that regard. This was a fun episode with terrific characterization, and much kudos should go to Michael Jelenic for his script -- Mr. Jelenic also wrote one of the best episodes of this series, The Laughing Bat, in season two.
There was a lot to praise with this episode, and I wouldn't know where to start. Everyone did an outstanding job. I also thought it was very interesting how Batman took a backseat in this episode, and likely will do the same in the second episode. His role was minimal in this story, which was a bold choice for a series titled "The Batman" and a real different change of pace. It was great for this story, but I do hope that the gears shift from the third episode on and Bruce stays the central focus, as has been The Batman's mission statement from day one.
I give this a 5/5 and call it one of the best episodes of this series yet. What a way to kick off the season.

First of all I would like to say that despite my dislike for the bat-sidekicks...this episode was very good! However, I hope that WB does everyone a favor and leaves Robin out of the picture. Like the ever-coveted BTAS, when Robin was introduced is when the series became a bit too campy for me. Robin always seems to detract from the Dark Knight for me and I know a large number of fans that feel the same way. Instead of throwing Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, Superman, the kitchen sink, and everyone else into the mix, why don't we just forcus on The Bat. Everyone tends to throw the argument that the sidekicks are an integral part to the comic book character, but even today there are SEVERAL comics that omit the characters due to their "campy" nature. Let's just keep Batman cool and enjoyable. We just got Gordon, let's enjoy the relationship development between Bats and Gordon for a while with some entertaining detective stories and good villans!!!
And on a EVEN MUCH MORE IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! <composer's rant>...The new intro to the show is inexcusable!!!! WB better have a very good reason for pulling The Edge's theme from the introduction of the show and replacing it with that second rate, (dare I say) repulsive, campy, 60's mock-action tribute piece! You have a REAL musician which submits a GORGEOUS and innovative piece that captures a great dark feel to the show, and now all of a sudden we've got Batgirl skipping around and a new campy theme. I sense a trend here and I don't like where it's going. I have defended this show when everyone else was against it saying that it was too campy compared to BTAS. However, now I'm starting to side with the nay sayers as I'm scared for the future of "The Batman" What out of touch suit is making these decisions at WB anyway and already ruining what has the potential to be a fantastic series?!

Are you joking?!?
Having the sidekicks in any batman cartoon/movie/comic is essential because it reveals apart of Batman/Bruce that wouldn't come into play without them. The whole "surround myself with family because I don't really have one" thing, the "I'm responsible for you and your fate" thing, the "I can't belive I let you get injured/emotionally traumatized, again" thing, the "I DON'T need you, but I really do" thing... I mean that IS Batman, those are integral parts of his character. But you have to have at least one of the sidekicks for the depth of these conflicts to really come out. Of course we don't want The Batman to become campy but don't throw out the baby with the bath water...

Great debate gang!
I honestly don't see The Batman getting campy. Lets not take the intro for more than it is.....its just a song, lol. Batgirl, IMO, came off very well. She wasn't half as annoying as I feared she might be. I found myself very happy she was there, because she takes some focus off of Batman, and allows him to be more brooding and in the shadow. I think thats essential for his continuing evolution in this new animated universe.

Thanx /\/\att for those pics - it looks amazing!
I have always kept an open mind about The Batman and can see why some people do and dont like certain episodes but my personal look to it is that this series is another interpretation of the Batman story and has been trying its best to please us fans as well as still be kid friendly and creative-
Imagine if you had to write episodes but could not use certain language, characters etc. its hard - and i would just like to say thank you for this series as i find it to be amazing! And another thank you for having Poison Ivy in it! {i love her} and Piera your voice for her is amazing!
So yes there have been episodes that were not as good in my opinion but there have been others that i would call classic batman storylines however i have still loved every minute i have spent watching them! BTAS etc. were all from a team that like Matsuda etc. were starting out and experimenting with certain storylines and characters and we should applaud them for doing this!
Anyway is there any news on the new episode titles? And what will happen later on in the series? and /\/\att could you show some pics of the new intro? SRA

I'm pretty cheesed about the edge's theme being removed i really liked it.
Also a note to everyone, you have to take each bat show as an elseworld type of idea because no show can capture what batman totally is everyone has their views and takes on the character, if you think of every show as kindof an elseworld you will enjoy each show that much more.

I LOVE this! Well said. This is what I try to explain over and over, but no one listens to me, lol. I could compare the SuperFriends to BTAS and HATE it...but I don't...because its in its own league. Its the same...but different. Thank you for saying it like that. FYI - if you missed this episode, and I know a lot of you did, it will be re-run during the afternoon (3:30pm) on Friday, September 30! next new eps: sept. 24 - Batgirl Begins part 2 Oct. 1 - A Dark Knight to remember

[shadow=red,left,300]I was able to catch this episode this last Saturday before I left for the weekend. I'll be honest, the new intro music will take some getting used to. I loved the transition from seeing Batgirl in action, to going back and seeing how it had all began. The interaction between Gordon and his daughter was dead on, as well as the interaction between Bats and himself. Temblor was a great villain, and I can't wait to see him in future episodes.
