Even though Joker still being overused, it does seem like an interesting episode. Catwoman returns as well. Plus, Joker get hyenas too. Harley coming soon?

It was alright, but not great. Still overused Joker. Catwoman didn't play a big role. Batgirl's still on. At least we got the Hyenas. Could it be a sign for: 7/10 The best episode of Season 3 in my book is still 'A Fistful of Felt'. Solo Batman.

I actually loved this one. I got elements not used before...more joker gadgets -- the gas masks, the giant chomping teeth....I really love Punch and Judy...they bring a lot of character to the Joker. The hyenas were fantastic...KMR was on target this episode...Joker didn't feel tired out this time...he felt a little fresher....more developed.
I could see an update in Catwoman's design..its sharper, sexier. Very nice. Gina Gershon does a great job. The interaction between her and Batgirl rang true of their now classic dialogue...very cute.
Bats was great...grim..shoved into the shadows...thats why I love Batgirl being on the show..she really makes him seem darker...he's more serious with her there..the stakes are higher with her life on the line.
and is it just me, or was that poacher's design a nod to Slade?
All in all one of my favs. 10/10

[shadow=purple,left,300]This was a great episode. Thrilling, dark and well-written. The interaction between Batgirl and Catwoman was perfect, and I also noticed Catwoman's sleeker design. The Joker was back to season 2 antics here, a very nice boost after a couple of so-so episodes. Loved the hyenas.
I give it a 9.5/10. [/shadow]

Good episode, seems like they had fun with the giant maze. This ep had a lot of energy, and I hope they can keep the momentum up right into another season. One question, why did everyone have it pegged as a "team-up" beforehand? I was surprised when Joker tried to kill Catwoman.

Catwoman looked the same to me. I didn't notice anything different.

A good episode, very enjoyable with some nice retro flourishes:
Some thoughts:
-- The use of traps was very 1960s -- especially one of the most memorable Adam West series eps when Batman and Robin were trapped in a maze by Catwoman, complete with spikes coming from the walls.
-- Also reminded me of the Riddle of the Minotaur ep of TAS.
-- I also noticed Catwoman was updated. Her eyes, especially, seemed different. She's more alluring now. Gina Gershon also toned down the schtick a little, for the better.
-- Very much liked the Batgirl-Catwoman interplay, especially Batgirl's you're-not-buying-this-are-you? comment to Batman.
Nice comeback from the last two eps.

One question, why did everyone have it pegged as a "team-up" beforehand? I was surprised when Joker tried to kill Catwoman. from our interview with Duane Capizzi Its obvious now he just meant having them both in the episode...rather than actually teaming-up...being nerdy fanboys, we just took him literally

Hey! I'm a new member to LoG and I wanna say that I love the Batman! I agree that Joker is being overused, it's nice to see Batman deal with a variety of villains...I also heard rumors that Batgirl was gonna get her own series on the network. Anyone have confirmations or denials on this? Plus, has anyone got good info on the star Rino Romano? He has arguably (not really) one of the best voices in animation today!!

An excellent episode, a huge comeback from the last two ("RPM" and "Brawn") disappointments. "The Laughing Cats" did indeed have a "retro" feel, which is usually a good element for my enjoyment of this series. Better dialogue, more depth to the plot, character's actions having something to do with the storyline...these components all added up to a very good plot, with exciting action, humor, and a narrative that is true to the characters. The hyenas were a great, unexpected bonus. Can Harley be far behind? Despite no reports of her being in this series, there seems to be no reason not to include her - this world seems perfect for her, with two other strong females for her to play off of (three if you count the long-lost Yin - where did she go, anyway?), as well as the frenetic, vaguely anime style and tone of the stories. Who wouldn't love to see her face off against Penguin's Kabuki Twins, or another Harley / Ivy team-up against Babs and Bruce? I sure would.

I'm actually starting to miss the Penguin... BUT if they team him up with Freeze that'd be great. I really liked this episode... The dialouge with Batgirl and Catwoman was awesome. I really wouldn't mind Batgirl being on every episode as long as she didn't fall into a trap every god-dang time. I liked the maze... A tribute to the new Harry Potter movie...? WHICH WAS GREAT BY THE WAY... Ahem. Back on topic. This episode was every bit just as great as I had anticipated. I loved the introducing of Joker's rare-breed hyneas. 'Twas sweet. I hope they don't bring in Harley Quinn... I really do love Harley (acctually, I remember when I watched the old BTAS episodes I used to have a huge crush on her.) But she belongs in the annals of time in old BTAS history. If they MUST bring her in, don't make her a teenager like Poison Ivy, make her Joker's age. All in all AWESOME episode.
10/10

I liked the maze... A tribute to the new Harry Potter movie...? WHICH WAS GREAT BY THE WAY... Ahem. Back on topic. I HIGHLY doubt that... this episode has been completed for months now (i would bet) and it's VERY unlikely that they were making a nod to the book. that would be VERY random. in fact, i doubt if the maze is supposed to be a nod to anything, but people tend to read too far into things like that. if anything at all, i'd say it's a nod to something with TAS.

[glow=blue,2,300] 1.) I was kidding about the whole HP thing. 2.) If the maze was a take-off on anything from BTAS, the only thing I could think of was the Riddler's "Maze of the Minotaur" or whatever it was called. 3.) This is a little off-topic, but as anyone heard of the new Superman movie their coming out with? Is it like a movie with actors from the Superman TV show "Smallville"? just curious...[/glow]

it has no connection to Smallville. in fact, i just saw a trailor for it during Harry Potter last night. it looks like it's going to be awesome.
Superman is played by Brandon Routh and Lex Luthor is played by Kevin Spacey. The movie takes place after "Superman II" and they are ignoring "Superman III" and "Superman IV" because those movies were terrible. lol

Another "OK" episode IMHO. I enjoyed it and thought it was better than many other Ep's though. I liked seeing Catwoman again and the Hyenas and death-maze were fun.

I liked this episode. I like how with the introduction of Batgirl, Batman has become more dark and serious, more Batman like. I think the Joker was good in this ep. I loved the Crocodile Dundee look he had towards the end. This is just me, but after this ep, if they made a Catwoman spinoff, I would be ok with it. I remember they tried doing that with the original Catwoman from BTAS. You always hear about DC TV trying to break into the girls market.

who all has she been in a "double-villain" episode with? lets see, there was penguin, ragdoll... and now joker! did i miss anyone? a team-up id like to see is riddler and cluemaster. i know just about everyone hates cluemaster, but i think it would make an interesting episode!(i think someone else suggested something along these lines some time ago...) just imagine! have riddler rig cluemasters cell with a million booby-traps (caus he's his mental equal and nemesis), and have cluemaster forced to solve dozens of riddles to power-down some of the traps, while batman goes on a hunt for riddler! and in the end, have cluemaster suddenly pull off a trick that noone was expecting... like, have it so that the traps were all ruses, and that he and riddler were teamed up all along, in order to break cluemaster out! hehe, my imaginations running wild, so sorry!

I most certainly do not hate him. I think he's fantastic...anyone that carries numbered midget henchmen around in their pockets can't be ALL bad right?

Starts off slow, but this episode gradually grows and leads to the maze and hyenas I loved this episode although the last scenes had a bit too many mistakes, the action was short but still really good. There was some sort of dilemma going on with Batman and Batgirl and I liked how they touched on that. Catwoman is one of my favorite characters because of her relation with Batman and Bruce Wayne and I loved this episode as well. I was a little disappointed they didn't do more on Selina and Bruce beyond the nightshift but still really great episode. 9/10
