This was an awesome episode! Even if Batman was only in it for like 5 minutes. But Black Mask was awesome! My favorite part was definately the interrogation of Black Mask with Commisioner Gordon. And did we mention, Gordon's back, and we actually hear him talk? Besides that, I think the writer did a good job on giving Batgirl less witty puns, and developing a balanced relationship with Robin. One small problem though: Where the heck did Batgirl and Robin get their belts back? Also did anyone else notice, IMO, what seemed to be BB reference? And perhaps an Austin Power one? Ras: Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a city to destroy Black Mask: Excuse me Commisioner, I have a city to destroy And the scene right after Number One introduces himself, we see a Wanted poster which resembles Number 2 from Austin Powers.

This was my favorite episode so far. I loved Black Mask.I also liked how it showed batgirl as a little more expirenced than Robin, cause in Team Penguin, he seemed to be almost better than her and she has been doing it for longer. It was nice to see Gordon again too. Next Week ZOMBIES!!

Gotta admit this was an exceptional episode... maybe even better than the premier ep!? After the last two episodes I was starting to have doubts this season was going to keep it's momentum. Glad to see it still has something to offer me. Really well done all the way around. Inventive, unique, attractive, and fun! Well written and constructed and well performed. Great job!

Awesome episode. I love how they portrayed Black Mask to be so ruthless. I love how they're developing the relationship between Batgirl and Robin and love the non-stop action.
I was laughing so hard when Batgirl and Robin were eating chips and a donut as they were talking about the 'wanted' posters. Too funny. hahaha

I agree with the previous posts - this was the best episode of Season 4 so far. Great job by all, especially Remar as Black Mask and Pileggi as Gordon. This season is developing into the best one yet. Black Mask was ruthless and evil - it looked like he killed his Number One assistant - and Gordon was the tough, no nonsense cop we love from the comics. There was real, palpable danger for Batgirl and Robin depicted in the tense action sequences, too. 10/10 ;D

[shadow=green,left,300] The best episode yet! James remar did a spectacular job as Blackmask and there was action non stop. I liked how Batgirl and Robin worked together, what teamwork I look forward to more episodes like this, "Now let's go wash the Batmobile" ;D 10 out of 10 [/shadow] I agree with you Kat, great episode! I like how it primarily focused on Batgirl and Robin as the heroes. Blackmask was awesome here too, great to see the character done so well for his first animated incarnation.

This was a great episode. Black Mask was great and Gordon's back! Nice to see Batgirl and Robin in the spotlight. Is it me or was she secretly trying to kill him by making him keep them busy?
Those two guards learned a very important lesson: NEVER taunt the Batman.

Yeah I love the line where Batman says "more work for me, more pain for you."

This is definately my favorite episode so far. James was awesome as Black Mask, he sounded exactly like I thought the character should. I really liked how Batgirl Robin were intigrated, the characters play off each other perfectly. Definately an excellen episode. 10/10

The conversation with Robin asking if she ever gets scared, and the back and forth was great to hear, and the way she brought his spirits back up by poking fun at the wanted guy on the poster saying, he missed his nose and poked his eye.
Cool to see the Commish back in the spotlight a bit, and I hope to see Black Mask back in another episode real soon.
This episode was a homerun and I gotta say that this is one of my all time favorite animated Batman cartoons
9.5/10

If there is a season 5, I'd be highly disappointed if he does not return. As of now, Im hoping 'Seconds' will have an original TB villain, undoubtedly Black Mask.

i really enjoyed this episode, a great introduction for black mask. i could'nt stop laughing at lines such as when batgirl called black mask "happy face" and when robin said "who made me the keep em busy guy". plus batmans utility belt with voice recognition was pretty cool and i liked the whole 'electric shock guns' aswell. One thing that i noticed was that at the end when the bomb counter goes down, batgirl shouts "dad", so does this mean that black mask now knows that batgirls dad works at the police station, or in fact knows that its commisner gordon

Not necessarily, no... i mean, the device was designed to wipe out half of gotham. she could have been worried about her dad no matter where he was in the city.

- Obviously containing spoilers.... -
Late on this one. Hope people are still checking the thread!
Good balance in this show. Many times when there could have been a cliche, it was avoided. Batgirl and Robin worked together....by actually working together. It wasn't the two of them failing to do a job and having to be parented by Batman.
Batman had his own situation to handle. Batgirl and Robin had theirs. It didn't turn into a "Hey! We saved Batman for a change <chuckle>" episode. No. The younger dynamic duo managed to work well together, and Batman managed to escape and stop the explosion on his own. He is Batman, after all.
The Dark Knight made a point about a salute to Batman Begins. I believe there were multiple salutes in this episode. I am surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet (unless I overlooked it) -
"Number One" (not to be confused with Jonathan Frakes in my sig) makes a point to inform Batman that he is the second in command behind Black Mask. Black Mask even calls him Number One. Recall that in the 1989 Batman film, Grissom calls Jack "His number one guy." When Joker is running the show, he makes fun of Grissom by acting out the same scene with Bob. "And Bob....You.....are my number one....<Jack Nicholson inhale>....guy"
Later in Batman (1989), Joker shoots Bob and hands off the weapon to another henchman - the exact same scene happens in this episode when Black Mask shoots Number One & hands off the weapon.
Oh! And of course Black Mask's final escape is in a helicopter...

I'd rather Batman himself and not his two underlings who lack original personalities. It was nice to see Gordon again and I loved Black Mask i only feel even i could have done better.
