Hey everyone,
I acquired several super powers figures in an auction on ebay sometime ago.
I noticed yesterday that both the superman and batman figures have no dates anywhere on them.
I thought this was odd and checked my other figures and they all had dates. I also checked the batman and superman figures for any customizing or foul play and couldn't find any.
I thought these may have been Super Amigos figures b/c of no date and some slightly sloppy paint application on the superman figure but checked my Super Amigos Riddler and he had a date.
Sorry i don't have a digital camara to show you all, but it struck me as very strange.
Any help would be appreciated in IDing the origin of these figures.
regards, Joshua

THese figures are not DC Super heroes figures, definately super powers or using the same mold.
I was thinking they might be promotional or Toy fair examples, maybe a prototype?
They look exactly like regular super powers figures except they have no date and super man has some sloppy paint application to his s curl.
Any help would be appreciated.

Its kinda hard to say without actually seeing the 2 figs. I doubt its a prototype as they are never painted up in retail color schemes. None of my DC Heroes are loose so i cant really check them to see, they did use the same Super Powers molds but had new head sculpts. Sometimes the paint jobs on details were a bit sloppy. Do you have a link to the auction? Ebay usualy leaves old ones up for awhile.

Hey all,
These figures are not ToyBiz. They are exactly like the Super powers figures in everyway except no date and very slight sloppy paint application. The real question is how would a super powers Superman and batman figure wind up with no dates on them?
I originally thought that they were some kind of knock off but compared to my riddler figure, which has a date, this may not be correct. The mold of the figures is 100% identical to regular super powers figures and is not cheapened like the Super Amigos and Toybiz figures.
The only thing i have left to consider is whether these are preproduction figures, but the figures appears to be factory painted including both the superman and batman symbols.
So can anyone come up with another scenario as to how these figures don't have dates?
I bought these figure several years ago so no help with ebay records.
any thoughts?
Thanks for the help. Joshua

I not sure either chief and I am a bit of a SP expert. I too was going to say that these were early Toybiz stabs but TB didnt make a grey Batman so thats out. go to WWW.TOYOTTER.COM and ask the Otter-if anyone knows he does

I don't know if this will help you or not. But click on the pic below and then click on the full screen option below the pic and you'll see both the SP Batman (first figure) and the Super Amigos Batman (last figure). The Super Amigos has rubber arms and legs along with a vinyl cape. PJ Click on pic to enlarge -

The bottom right is not an SA Batman figure, Amigos figures had knee joints. That must be another knock off from when the movie hit in 1989. I'm almost 100% sure that the figures are indeed SA figures from a source that said the SA figures of Superman and batman had no year markings.
Thanks everyone for the help

Sorry, my mistake the last one is from another Super Powers knockoff line... the Colombian Super Powers figures. PJ
