Do you think Batman graphic novels are better than anything you'll find on television? In my particular case, no way! Television/film is a much better medium, IMO. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a perfect example. The weapon X scene, you can't tell me reading that scene in a comic book is as exciting as seeing it played out on screen! I'll never believe that! That's why I grew up watching the various Marvel/DC cartoons and I never read comics. Comics just can't capture the drama/action/excitement/adventure like an animated TV show can. In the case of Batman, hearing Conroy's and Hamill's voices(and all the other voice actors) just makes Batman much more exciting than just reading words on paper. that's just my opinion

I'm asking you if every Batman comic book ever published is better than every Batman movie and/or TV show ever created. By the way do you know where I can buy "The Man Who Falls"? I've tried to look for that comic at Amazon and I can't find it.

Heck, my seven year old cousin said it was stupid!
But you are right on the money brining up the voices!

I have seen a movie that was better than its adaptation. The Last of the Mohicans. It is a horrendous book that stands for so many things that I disagree with. The film adaptation from 1992 easily surpasses the book. I agree with you for the most part jlavia. Usually the source material is better than the derivative, but I generally enjoy the adaptations. It is easier to improve on something that wasn't that great to start with.

Both mediums provide a great deal of entertainment. Each has their own natural benefits and handicaps, and any project from either the potential for greatness and suckitude. Radio, TV, Film, Literature, and Comics are all different beasts. There are many film and TV projects I prefer to Comics and many Comics I prefer to TV or Film. Specifically when it comes to Batman though, I prefer the comics to the movies overall even though I may enjoy the movies fine. However; there are no absolutes.

Well, not that theres that much Batman related TV, but including cartoons, theres actually much animated batman I prefer over the comics in many ways... such as the DCAU/Timm-verse.

Comics, hands down. While movies and t.v. and cartoons are nice, you can't beat the original. Tho t.v. helps some. When I read the comics, I imagine Mark Hamill as the Joker and Kevin Conroy as the Batman.

As much as I like the cartoons and the live action versions of Batman, nothing will compare to the comic books. I enjoy that medium far too much. The art, the writing. being able to flip back and forth admiring the panels of art. I dont need to have every little detail of a fight or person to person confrontation shown to me. The panels of a comic set up the main components of the story, you use your imagination to fill in the little details. I feel thats something thats been lost on the recent generations. Imagination. Seems like people now need to be spoon fed everything.

I agree, hands down the comics will always be better. This is where the spirit of Batman comes from. As much as I enjoy the tv shows and movies you just can't convey the story lines with all the details and the way things unfold like they do in the comics. I'll always prefer the books over any type of movie, and that's not just with Batman but with any book series in general, because you lose so much in the transition. You can't beat the art either. And you just can't do story lines like The Killing Joke or The Dark Knight Returns in any medium other than comics, and it's not worth the sacrifice just to see some animation or live action.

They could probably do The Dark Knight Returns in animation if they're willing to make three or four 75 minute animated films.

I think if DC did a DKR DTV, they would do it justice with the right amount of time needed.
