Secret Six - Bane

I'm fairly new to comics and was reading about Bane after buying Knightfall. I noticed he is in a series called Secret Six. Is it any good?
I was also wondering about the hoses that shoot Venom into him and thought why would he be a dangerous villian to Batman? All Batman would need to do is snap them with his batarang or rip them off with his grapple hook and his supply would be gone. Then I read on wikipedia he only needs to shoot up with Venom every 12 hours. If he only needs to do it every 12 hours why walk around with hoses all the time? I don't understand.

^ all the Secret Six mini series are very good. if you dont know about Bane though you probaly wont know about any characters in the books and you may be a bit lost as they tie into Infinite Crisis.

Bane doesnt use Venom anymore. and he's a threat to Batman because he is very, very strong. he's very smart. he knows who Batman is and he is cunning and he's the real deal.

I read Villains United and it was good. The Secret Six miniseries wasn't that good. And the only issue of the current continuous Secret Six series that I read was the one that tied into Battle for the Cowl and I did not care for it.
