Comics2film linked the other day news that a Teen Titans toon "direct to video movie" is ready to roll asap. Apparently this was confirmed through the Beast Boy voice actor.

Cool. I think the Titans merit this. It's a very creative show.

Another site (which I cant recall ATM) has recently rumored the title of the TT direct to video flick as "Teen Titans Tokyo". Seems believable and likely to me. On a related note: The working title of the new DTV Superman movie is supposedly "Superman Vs. Brainiac"!

it is officially titled Teen Titans Tokyo and will be written by David Slack

No release date anounced yet but Comics2film reports it is scheduled to air on CN in the Fall after it's dvd release... so safe to assume we can expect it in the summer!

Isn't it strange that they've been airing the DTV's right after the DVD release? ala Bats Vs. Dracula?

I believe thats because they want to air it and have people who are questioning buying even after good reviews to see it free and then afterwards it'll be easier for them to either buy or not.

From Continuum:
David Slack, writer/producer of the upcoming Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo animated movie, dropped a few hints about the film recently at Comic-Con International, where the film was screened.
"Without giving anything away, there's a little bit of romance between two our lead characters," Slack said.
Slack said he handed the story-editing chores to Rob Hoegee and Amy Wolfram for the fifth season of the Teen Titans series to focus on the film.
"Obviously, if you're going to have it take place in Japan, there's a lot of Japanese things that you need to see," Slack said.

I saw it and, unfortunately, i was unimpressed. none of the questions left open at the end of the series were answered, and it may as well have had no connection to the show at all. not only that, but the villain was second-rate and the plot ran pretty thin. it just wasn't nearly as good as i wanted it to be, and not even CLOSE to what it could have been. it was still relatively entertaining, and i'll probably buy it when it's finally released, but still, it's just not up to par with what i'd expect from a show as good as this. I guess i was just spoiled with how great Batman vs Dracula turned out. oh well.

Note: This post may contain spoilers.
Well, I saw it on Cartoon Network, and while Ruseri is entitled to his own opinion, I think this movie was really good. There were some pros and cons:
GOOD:
There were alot, I mean alot, of twists in this movie. The main villain wasn't actually the main villain at all, but was being used by a detective guy (who I knew was bad). His name was Brushogun, he was an artist who was turned into an ink creature after bringing one of his drawings to life. This gave him the power to create supervillains out of ink, as the Titan later figured out. He was caught by the detective but was used by him to create more villains, which he would catch and become a hero.
Robin and Starfire are now a couple. One word: FINALLY! Now if we can only get BeastBoy and Raven.
BAD:
That monster (Godzilla knock-off) they fought looked too much like a guy in a rubbersuit.
I thought we were actually going to see Robin without his mask off, but they had to have him put the glasses on. Thank god he'll be on the Batman soon, cause it'll be the first time I've seen Robin without a mask on in years.
The main villain's lair was a comic book store. Kind of corny right?
Well that's pretty much it, I really recommend this.
RATING: 8.5/10

I missed the majority of this, but I liked what I saw. I started watching when they first met that guy hooked up to the machines. I liked that Robin and Starfire finally got to together. I liked that while it didn't answer any of the questions of Season 5, it went out on a triumphant tone. I can't fairly judge the movie from what little I saw, but I'd say it was quite good. Probably not quite as good as the other DC DTV's, but it really wasn't meant for my age group as much. I am sure that little kids would rather see it than MOTP or ROTJ.

I missed about the first 10-15 minutes but enjoyed it overall. With no new episodes airing, it wouldve been nice for this to have been a bit "more". But it was good fun. It was bassically a long episode with the exception of some slightly pumped up violence. Robin really shined and it was great seeing him and Star affirm their feelings for each other.
I'll happily purchase it to complete the series when it comes out.

It was ok. IT was no Batman vs Dracula for Teen Titans. This felt like it would have been better broken up into 3 or 4 eps as part of another season. I would have preferred more of a closing of the series. Something with Slade. At the most the movie could have used a more upperscale villian. Loved the Aqualad cameo at the begining. But since they were in Japan, shouldnt they have atleast run into Bushido or something.

I didn't love. Didn't hate it. I thought the concept of Brushogan was great. Too bad I figured out the whole story ahead of time. Oh well. Judas Contract here I come.

I didnt watch it, but seeing it as a DTV, I thought it would probably be horrible, but hearing these good reviews is quite surprising to me, Im going to have to check it out.
