I like it. I'm not amazed by it, but I like it none the less.
I only hope the bat-emblem isn't gold like it appears, but I guess that's a minor complaint.

dont worry folks, it will be all over soon enough. It was released in todays issue of Entertainment Weekly. Im sure after tonight it will be all over the internet. Like its not now.lol
I bought the issue, and OMG, I cant believe what I saw. And I dont mean that in a good way.
After we get an official pic up here on LoG Im sure we all can give our opinions and discuss it.

I'm not a fan of what I saw of the suit in that pic. Too much of a high tech look to it, like it belongs in outer space or something. I do like the changes to the neck allowing for better haed movement, but that's about it. One thing I'd love to see is lenses added to the mask instead of just black make-up around the eyes. Lenses actually worked on the Daredevil costume from that movie, lenses should be able to work in a Batman movie too. Then Bats could have night vision built right into the cowl.

well, of course we are discussing this over on the BOTB, heres what I had to say:
Cowl design looks the same. I like the idea of the cowl and neck being seperate pieces. Havent we all discussed that here?lol
Belt and boots look basically the same, except the belt looks like its up higher on his hips.
The armor pieces. I dont get this at all. Especially on the legs. Looks like a Tron design. I dont understand why having all thos little "plates" would enable more movability. Like its designed just for appearance. Ugly appearance.
Chest , hard to tell from this pic. Will need a straight shot to really judge this.
Shoulders. Too big, almost like football pads. lol, not quit, but too big for my liking.
The guantlets and gloves. Gloves look like a cross between motocross and sparing gloves. Look awfully bulky. The guantlets, again, to me, looks too bulky.Like he took shin guards and glued them onto his suit. Retractable blades. Cool idea, too bad Harry Goblin had them in Spidey 3. Also explains the bigger guants. But shooting out at people? Sorry, I just think thats funny. Like my sig says, "go go gadget bat fins!" I dont want to hear anyone critisize Clooneys batskates again!lol
All in all, I am very disappointed in this suit. It looks like a motocross outfit painted black. I know alot of guys on here have actually had similar idea of doing custom suits that had this type of design, thats all good for a fan made suit, but for a big budget bat flick, I think this is horrid.
Oh well, at least Ill be saving some money from not putting together a new suit.

hmmm.....it's different. I think it's got some good aspects to it. I like the mobility in the cowl and the flying discs from the gauntlets. I would like to get a better angle of the chest emblem though. I'm interested to see how this new style costume will fit into the movie. If I had to guess about Chris Nolan's uber realistic films, there's probably a well defined reason why the costume changed. Guess we'll find out later.

EW put it on their website, so I'm gonna say fair game to post it all around. We're giving them credit.

Oh well, at least Ill be saving some money from not putting together a new suit. I 100 percent agree with you on this one. You figure they would have used more of that micro woven stuff that they made Spider-mans costume out of or Superman's and explain how its dense material and would offer some protection against impact and such. I had high hopes for this film, but I feel like its not shaping up to be the suit that I had envisioned or the film that I envisioned. I know people often say things like "well its not practical" but we have to remember something, this is in-fact a comic book however you slice it.

i like it. i like how they have to make him wear padding and armour to show he's really just a vulnerable man underneath. i'd have had a problem believing it if they'd gone the cloth route and just explained it away as being some super-dense material to protect him.
it's great that they've now separated the cowl from the neck piece to hopefully allow more movement, it's weird they didn't think of doing it for Begins, but i suppose they must have though making the whole cowl in one piece but being separate from the suit would be good enough.
and i hope the emblem on his chest remains black, or it could look a bit cheap like those knock-off figures you see on ebay.

Thank You for posting the picture
Until I see a bigger picture of it and full on, I won't make any drastic comments on it yet. I will say what I like about it is the cowl, neck movement, and the way the cape is flowing. But the rest of the suit right now just isn't working for me, I hope it's just a work in progess jones that is going on here

^ Just looked around the net and found a bigger picture of this image and after looking at it and reading why they did this and that to the suit, I am totally digging it, and love the changes they made. It makes sense. The gloves sound really cool, how his fins or blades are retractable, and are used as shooting weapons, I can't wait to see more...

[glow=red,2,300]So far I genrally like it I really want to see a full front shot, and hope that bat isnt gold but thats minor, I think this is most likely the suit Bats adapts after beingt beat tby the Joker, which does sort of back up why it is over protective[/glow] [glow=red,2,300] Oh and I dont think the gold emblem will make it lookcheap, as it will look as if made from metal, I reckon this could be a throw to the idea that the bright colour attracts gun fire to the most heavily armoured part of the suit? what you guys reckon???[/glow]

Looks amazing. Love the new suit. I wish it had a better shot of the cowl though. Right now I'm not to crazy about the spikes on his arms shooting out, but it'll work. Could it be that, the flying spikes it what causes the Joker's grin & not a zipline?

Love the costume. I am hoping though the bat emblem isn't yellow. Do we know for sure it's yellow, or could it possibly be just a reflection?

i saved and opened the picture in Paintshop Pro, then used the dropper tool to see the component values of the colours. the values for the colour of the emblem are pretty much the same as the values of the pectoral armour right next to it, so i think it's still black but the lighting has given it that appearance.

[glow=red,2,300] Its so damn hard to tell on zoom, I mean it looks gold, but that paintshop pro is good, MuksC does the values of the emblem match up to the belt at all? I got the bigger pic and zoomed in on the emblem I cant tell it looks as if its gold bu also looks as if's its gold, I dunno. You guys do the same and see what you think?[/glow]

tried it on the belt compared to the emblem and pec armour, the emblem is no way near as dark as the belt, but then again, the parts on the belt that are highlighted by the light source are sort of the same shade as the emblem, so it's hard to draw a conclusion from this crude test. depending on which pixel you analyse, you get matching or opposing values. but in my opinion, i think the emblem is still flat black, the same as the rest of the chest armour, it's just that it's highlighted by the light source so looks lighter, giving the impression that it's gold. we'll find out soon enough when some higher quality pictures are released.

I hope the suit is completley black and its just the light making it look gold. I would not like a gold suit at all. Or maybe its a type of prototype that he then goes and spraypaints black like he did with his suit in the first one.

The suit is growing on me. My first reaction was that he is starting to look like a Power Ranger. But I'm holding back till I see more. I know that this Batman is always changing and evolving. I read elsewhere that his Batcave will have a complete make over, so its logical he would have worked on his suit and Batmobile.

[glow=red,2,300]Oh thank god, cheers Shadowbat, man this costume is gonna look cool, and that bat is defiantly black!, I mean the real suit is going to look much better, due to that one being a stunt cozy(from the look of it ,and I bet it is) as the real one is way more fitting.[/glow]
