My son is a big Spidey fan..so I'm going to be covering the new show. I'm already working with the CW and Hasbro on bringing fans of this new era of animation a great experience, just like we did for The Batman! spidermananimated.blogspot.comYou can find a new press release there and some great images! Discuss the new show here on LOG!

This is a Batman board. A board devoted to the most awesome superhero of all time. And you start covering a spiderman show.
This has to be blasphemy or treason or one of those type of things.
But man... Wouldnt it just be the end of the world if somehow the companies that make Spiderman and Batman got together for a cross over?

Good to know we'll be covering this, too. I hope the same level of coverage and fan-based interaction comes with this show as it was and still is with "The Batman."

he didn't double post.
I dig the style, kinda Ultimate Spidey, kinda Jose Lopez. Hopefully this'll be better than Spider-Man 3
btw. I agree with everyone else, Matt. putting a Spidey board on the site is blasphemy. It's like drinking Pepsi from a Coke glass.

Hell, I'd love a Spidey board like LoG. What if Matt just made a new site all about Spidey for toys, comics, movies, and all the cartoons?

LoG's resedential Spidey-fan has brought forth new news on the new series: Screen caps of Spidey, and the first look at the Vulture! And...info from the first episode!: The Vulture figures to be the villain in the show's first episode, tentatively titled "Survival of the Fittest" and written by Greg Weisman.
In the episode, Adrian Toomes is an older scientist who claims that Oscorp has stolen his flying technology. Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius are also featured.
The Vulture will also appear later in the first season, The Continuum has learned, perhaps as part of a Sinister Six that was teased at Comic-Con International.
The spot that aired Saturday also revealed that, through an apparent artistic choice, the size of Spider-Man's eyeholes will change to reflect emotion.

Man, I thought even the promo images/designs looked better than these actual stills. This looks like animated spidey and friends to me?

I saw the teaser on youtube. If Spidey 3 wasn't bad enough here's Spidey 4: The Quest For Peace. Maybe he can fight radioactive man on the moon after poking Uncle Ben's killer's nephew in the arm. I'm not digging the show anymore.

I'm not a big spidey purist, so I don't know if this show will be my thing or not. My five year old son is mostly my concern, and thats why I'm covering it in the first place. As long as he likes it, I'm happy. I get the feeling this is geared to pretty small kids, not grown up fans. Which, while it may not thrill the older fans, is necessary to recruit new, younger Spidey fans.

I saw that spot too, but it didn't really show enough for me to get a real opinion. But I loved Spidey's line:
"A little early for Halloween isn't it? Well I guess I'm one to talk."
I imagine The Batman had some concern at first right? And this is basically the same for Spider-Man. Just gotta give it a chance ya know?

I wasn't really concerned with The Batman when I first heard about it because I loved Jeff Matsuda's work on NextMen, but the crappy anime stylings of this new Spidey show is really bothering me, I grew up watching the awesome series' in the 90's which nailed Spidey in a way BTAS nailed Bats. I'll give the new series a try, but for now, meh.

Yeah everyone has their own opinions on it. Like most things..it won't be for everybody. And at that I think mostly for younger fans. Its a great way to rope them in. Older fans may need to stick to re-runs of their 90s show, lol.
....but at least Spidey is on tv again, right?

mmm. it's a slightly good thing, but I've just had it with the crappy Spidey stuff they've been pushing lately. Spidey 3 was crap & it kinda soured me on almost everything.
