yeah, i'm pretty stumped by this myself. the part that throws me is the 50s. he really didnt use too many other aliases at that time. and i just brushed up on my 50s Batman recently too, since its become canon again. this is a tough one.

well then, moving on i guess.
Marvel: how did Blade get his powers?
|
|
|
Post by batman1973 on Aug 31, 2009 18:46:44 GMT -5
Well, first he holds his magic sword alfot and says" By the Power of Greyskull!" but in more technical terms, while he was still in his mom's womb, Deacon Frost had been feeding on Blade's Mom, which gave him the ability to resist vampire bites. But it wasn't until Morbius bit him that Blade gained abilites similar to a dhampir.

^ Correct. Larry Hama pitched the idea to the heads of Marvel Comics to have a son of Nick Fury battle Hydra. They said no, and the rest is history

i did not know that. i always thought they just wanted to do a comic about the toys. i never really thought about it coming from elsewhere. and you reminded about Nick Fury's son. remember him? he was big during the Edge period of Marvel, when they had Punisher kill Fury and his son became a top field agent but then it was revealed that the Fury Punisher killed was a LMD and then his son just completely disappeared. at least we'll know if any writers come to this site if all of a sudden Fury's kid returns.

^heck, I'm just wondering where ol Fury himself is. Chicken turd has been hiding since the whole "Civil War" nonsense. I'd love to see Nick come back to the Helicarrier and pimp slap the daylights outta Tony Stark for cowarldy helping to start the Civil War and for taking Fury's job as SHIELD's director.

^ Fury is around. he leads the Secret Warriors. and there is no more S.H.I.E.L.D., now there's H.A.M.M.E.R. led by Norman Osborn. Tony Stark is the one underground and on the run as he's the most wanted person on the planet. Fury has been facing Baron Von Strucker again and is one of the characters on Norman Osborn's list of people that are too much of a problem to his new world to be kept around. Dark Reign has been so awesome, i recommend getting into part of it.

Maybe. But I lost a lot of respect for Iron Man with the whole Civial War arc. I can tell you I giggled like the school girl when the Hulk thrashed him in WW Hulk.
