well, batman forever and batman& robin share literally the same plot. lol.
one villian a sidekick, one wanting to control the world in some way. a new addition to the bat team near the end of the movie. there were SOO many more connections to each, batman and robin just literally recycled the plot from forever. just terrible, maybe someone could elaborate more on this as i havnt watched either in awhile.
i really need to tget that special edition set of the 4 movies.

[shadow=purple,left,300]How about when the Penguin leaked motor oil at the end of Batman Returns? Honestly, what was that stuff?!
Also, the neon gang members from both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin were quite poor.[/shadow]

I think if you stick Joel Schumacher's name to any movie, it's going to suck. There should be a disclaimer on his movies that says: WARNING The following film is directed by Joel Schumacher. If you have any common sense get the hell out of this theater. To those staying, we have EMTs outside the theater and ambulances just in cases. Thank you.

i just remembered another one. on Batman and Robin when batgirl (can't remember what they changed her name to) broke into the bat cave and she is greated with a screen with alfred on saying "intruder alert" repeatedly. That would'nt exactly scare you off would it?

Okay, let me fix that (I'll also add on some additional humor): WARNING The following film is directed by Joel Schumacher. If you have any common sense get the hell out of this theater. None of his movies have been good since "Tigerland." To those staying, we have EMTs outside the theater and ambulances just in cases. Thank you.
Really, this movie is going to be terrible, get out now while you still can.
Fine, but if you go into insanity, just remember. I WARNED YOU.
Still here? Fine then. Enjoy the show.
You poor bastard. Guy in the audience: God this must be a really bad movie to have it's own warning. Let's get the hell out of here. *everyone leaves except one person* Joel: Oh, why doesn't anyone like my movies anymore? *starts sobbing*

I have no problem with the Alfred thing, even more so with Bruce ribbing him about doing it in Batman Returns. To me Alfred always does what he thinks is best for Bruce, and in that context letting someone in who already knows the secret by that point and who could very well be Bruce's future at the time makes sense to me. Particularly as this was, after all, right at the start of (that particular version of) Batman's career. As for the black eye makeup not being there when he rips off the cowl in Returns, I think it was clearly a deliberate choice. I mean let's face it, if he was standing there covered in black eye makeup looking like a backup dancer for The Cure not only would it have completely destroyed the moment and intent that the scene was going for, it would have had the audience in frickin' hysterics...I'm glad they did it that way. As for worst moments for me... Batman Forever: Pretty much any scene with Jim Carrey in it, damn I hated him in that film. And not in a good way. Over-acting bufoon. Also the "it's the car, right? Chicks love the car" line makes me cringe every time I hear it. Too much else to mention, from the mediocre (Kilmer's Batman non-performance, Kidman's wooden delivery et al) to the truly horrible (like I say, too many too mention). Honestly, I still say that Forever is every bit as bad as B&R, least in my eyes anyways. Batman & Robin: Uma Thurman giving one of the most annoying performances I've ever seen in every moment of her screen time, clearly trying to outdo even Carrey in the "alienate and annoy the hell out of me" stakes. Alicia Silverstone and Chris O'Donnel's painful non-acting. The dayglo nightmare set design that makes Batman Forever look restrained by comparison. They're the worst, there are many other complaints, way too many to go over here... Batman Begins: First off, I loved Begins, but it still has a few things that bugged me. Caine's alternating accent (especially bad in the plane scene), and the fact that he was basically just playing "Michael Caine - Likeable Butler" rather than embodying Alfred in any way, even if he did do it pretty well for the most part. The fact that Bruce refuses to kill in Ra's monastary - so far, so good you say - but basically his solution to not killing the prisoner is to get everybody (one must assume including said prisoner) killed in the ensuing battle, as only him and Ducard escape with their lives. Sloppy at best, makes him look kinda stupid at worst. And finally the fact that Katie Holmes really can't act, or at least didn't bother trying to in this film anyway. The final "I won't kill you but I don't have to save you" speech at the end felt like a bit of a doublespeak cop out to me too, especially considering the fact that not saving someone when you could do so pretty much is killing someone in all but the most lawyeristic of semantics. Still, most of those are niggles in an otherwise great film that I mostly thoroughly enjoy. Oh, and I know it's popular to bash and ridicule the guy, and he does deserve it for his Batman work, but for the record, I actually enjoy quite a few of Schumachers films personally (Falling Down, Phone Booth, Flatliners, The Lost Boys, 8mm, Tigerland), his quality to crap ratio seems to be floating somewhere around 50%, he just should be kept the hell away from Batman, as should anyone from any property that they clearly just "don't get", a lesson that these films should be a shining beacon for. Sev.

i agree with some of your comments regarding Begins, Severen. I wasn't too sure about Caine when i first heard he would be playing Alfred, and i wasn't completely satisfied with him after i had seen it, especially his accent. I don't like his delivery of the line in the plane when he says "actually, i was thinking of myself" after Bruce says something about his persona protecting his loved ones and he asks "you mean Rachel?".
also he horribly over-acts when he's telling Bruce off after the chase in the Tumbler is on the news footage, when he says "it's not just your name, it's your fathers, and that's all that's left of him".
i also didn't like his pronunciation of the word Gotham, he calls it "Goffam" a couple of times. i agree, he just played Michael Caine - the cheeky Cockney.
they should have got a better actor for both the Alfred and Rachel roles.
@ J-Man, Joel acknowledges he pi$$ed a lot of people off, and that most people hated B&R, in the interviews in the SE dvd.

I thought Caine did a pretty good performance as Alfred. I liked Michael Gough's Alfred as well. Any criticism about either of these interpretations I believe is more on the writing or directing. As far as Caine's accent, I never even noticed any change throughout the movie.

When it comes to Alfred i'm very choosey,[no big surprise there]and i have to say that when i first learned that Caine was cast as Alfred i was very pleased. He didn't let me down, there's a lot more to the character than just a subservient Butler and the portrayal for me was excellent. You have to remember that Alfred raised Bruce and is as much a Family Member/surrogate Father as he is a Butler. Caine's Alfred showed the familiarity that he could truly posess interacting with Bruce in privacy whereas where there were other's around he maintained a dignified and"proper"bearing as his station demands.I for one couldn't be happier with his Casting or the way he was allowed to expand his Character's portrayal. To me he's been the best Alfred ever portrayed and the truest to the essence of the way the character SHOULD be represented.

well it might be just cos i'm a Brit and i can't get his Cockney-ness out of my head whenever i hear him speak. i can't see past Michael Caine into the character he is portraying.
i think they should have got someone more posh or upper class in terms of his accent, that's something Michael Gough did well.

not really a bad movie moment but did anyone else notice in 'Begins' that Sara Stwert who played Martha Wayne only said one line something like "Bruce whats wrong". I kind of thought that such a key character would of said more than 3 words.

[glow=red,2,300] It wasn't really needed for the theme in the movie about the Father!Like Bruce finds Ducard as a father he never had! Maybe bit like the Long Halloween ,It concentrates on Martha and Thomas at different points in the book! [/glow]
