Looks more like the Scarecrow than the Riddler.
See, I also disliked the new Joker design, and I'm not crazy about this one either. It seems silly to make the Riddler scarier looking than almost anyone else. That, and I've always liked the sort of "gentleman lunatic" look that has been omnipresent throughout all of Batman's history.
I'm kinda too tired of being disappointed in the new show to really give much voice to it anymore. It's clearly a show for kids and doesn't stay true to the comics, nor does it have the integrity of BTAS, but we've known since day one that they were two different shows, and I've always taken the new show on its own merits or as compared to the comics.
With the exception of Manbat, all of this show's villains have been a disappointment to me, and I think I'm just going to accept that it's never going to be a favorite.
Just because it's Batman, doesn't meen I have to like it, and being the huge Riddler fan that I am, I'm less than thrilled with this.
But, of course, I'll still give it a chance when we actually see him on the show.

I'm loving it, the freaky Marylin Manson hair/face, and anarexic-ish skinnyness (hah, made up words). AWESOME! The lanky build, and the torn costume looks like it was made in mnutes, which gives off a creepy vibe, nice work Mastuda, you've done it again!

Not sure how I feel about this one yet. I'm partial to the original Animated series design, which was done by Mike Mignola. I'll have to see how this Riddler acts before I make a final judgement, going just by looks he doesn't seem like the traditional Riddler. The Riddler to me should be someone who thinks he's intellectually superior to everyone else, and the original Animated series captured that perfectly in look and in personality. I just hope they don't decide to make him a great fighter like they did with The Joker and The Penguin, I would prefer the Riddler be a real threat mentally and no threat physically. I look forward to seeing the first episode he appears in to see what direction they take with him.

[glow=red,2,300]ok, to be REALLY HONEST, im feeling a bit disappointed with the riddler design... im more of a "classic look" when it comes to batman villains... but im not saying that this character sucks, i'll have to see the show first before i judge this character...[/glow]

Interesting redesign. I like the suit & tie look best, but I kinda dig the spooky look here. If they were gonna go for a creepy goth/punk look though, they should have used Peter Murphy or Dave Vanian as inspiration instead of Manson.
I'm curious, will we get a look at what the original aborted Riddler design look like??

First things first...thanks for the exclusive Matt.
I hate the new look of the riddler! What is it with Batman and skinny villians? The Joker, The Scarecrow, The Riddler. I am not a big fan of the revamped version of the Riddler.....he looks like more like a cross dresser than a villian. Is the new Riddler supposed to be a disgruntled fashion designer or something? I hate, hate, hate the new look!

I showed it tp my 9 year old and his jaw did just what the icon's does! When he finally spoke, he said, "It that a GIRL??!!" I pretty much glommed onto all of the new versions right away, but this one is gonna take some time! At a local comic con earlier this month, both "The Batman" comic book penciller Christopher Jones and inker Terry Beatty said it was the most drastically changed version yet! - Now I see what they meant! I'm gonna have to let this one grow on me!...and form the look of this character, it will do so parasitically! But still, Matt - THANKS for the exclusive, though!

Just for the record, i've liked all the new interpretations except this one... to me, Joker never has been "creepy" and "scary" as everyone has been calling him. That's one thing that separates him from the rest. I though Jim Carrey's interpretation was spot on, displaying his insanity and comedy. he never has been or should be scary or creepy in my mind... i think they went in the completely wrong direction, but that's my opinion...

Like several other people, I'm wondering what the original design looked like now. Matt, do you have a picture of this? And if you do, are you allowed to show it?
Thanks

[shadow=purple,left,300]Hmmm... this one is going to take some getting use to. This version is definitely creepy, and I do like the goth-feel he has. I can't wait to see him in action, where I can fully understand Matsuda's vision!
When I heard Riddler looked like Manson earlier this month, I thought he would resemble the more vaudeville-esque look he has going now, like so:

I'll decide on his look and how he is portrayed when I see the episode, I mean he is so different from anything I have ever seen. He does look cool in his own way though.

WOW!! The new version of the Riddler is very creepy. He looks like a killer rather than a smart individual that can out smart Batman. He kind of remind me of the character Hellsing. He looks skinny and way different from the other ones. However, if there's any doubt about this design, then don't worry just wait until he appears on screen then we'll see. Hey, just look at the Man-Bat Thank you for this exclusive! I hope that everything will go well this time ;D

[glow=red,2,300]1st off I want to say thanks to Matt for this exclusive pic and for keeping the suspense going for the past week. 2nd I want to say how much I love this new design. It makes the Riddler look like a threat (sorry - that was uncalled for. - Reideen) . You know Riddler has to be a genius to where something so unexpected (part of some genius riddle maybe?). Anyways it supposed to be the early days of Bat's and Riddler's career so eventually he'll learn that a snazzy suit and hat tops all. For the skeptics out there just need to relax and accept change in the bat mythos. I love this design, it's edgy, and Matsuda is a fan of Batman just like us so just trust him. Matsuda wouldn't dissapoint us. Anyways all of the rouge's designs are great and this just adds to them. [/glow]

I dont have a problem with him except that his skin tone, facial expression and hair is not my style. But other then that he looks good. Im not complaining. Just different from what im used to. At least he still has his great riddles to get me attached to him.
