Matt, I'm open-minded and positive about whatever the creative team does, too. They have the reins. As fans it's fun to run through the what-ifs and why-nots, but it's not like I won't watch the show if it isn't created to my specs. I mean, if we didn't have diverse opinions and the desire to express them we wouldn't be signed up to this forum, would we? I'm just another old-timer that's happy to be along for the ride with my fellow Batfans - heck, it's ALL good for us right now.

Meh, whatever. I feel the same about this as I did about Catwoman: if you want to change it so much, just make a new character.
Here's a new direction the show could take: smart dialog.

[shadow=green,left,300]its geared for 9-12 yr olds..I think the dialogue is perfectly fine. [/shadow]

Dialogues for the show is pretty cool. Not in my taste, but hey, what can you do about it? It's for kids..... And I thought the show is going to be Batman going solo like the movie, not introducing a partner. Oh well, maybe Batgirl will only stick around for a season or something. Hey, look at Smallville, Lois Lane is in the series now and she's doing fine. As long as you have a good plot, then you can crunch in any characters you want, and The Batman isn't doing a good job of deliver the good writing.

The creative team behind this series has been staying very true to the characters and their history. I, for one, appreciate that.

@ MATT Are LOG members going so see Batgirl earlier How good are the chances for a Batgirl figure? I know this is really early since she hasn't appeared yet but there is already a Riddler, so...

[shadow=green,left,300]I think while there is a chance of a figure...its not as likely, only because of Mattel's fear of female figures (re: con excl. catwoman) as for if we'll have the first look....time will tell now won't it. hey people, i'm new here
i think batgirl b4 robin is pretty cool!!! what makes me mad is the Mattel femalephobia!!! :Pa batgirl action figure would sell faster than a joker varient, or thats what i think!!

Welcome to LOG Azrael24 ;D
I also think that the Joker variant is unnecessary.
Maybe they made Catwoman Con exclusive because she is a female but also a villain and both not selling well if you believe Mattel.

[glow=blue,2,300]That would really suck if they went to all the trouble of introducing a new heroic character on the show like Batgirl and we didn't get a figure. [/glow]

Great to hear Batgirl will be in the next season, but I think robin should have come first. ;D
On a side note, how many years later is the second season for Bruce? Is it just one year later?

Ellen Yin as Poison Ivy, tee-hee.
As for this female phobia for the toy companies, remember, the figures are geared to the same target audience as the show (which is the reason the Batman's suddenly so pun-friendly). 9-12 year old boys don't typically collect female figures. Plus the cost of details like hair that doesn't look like road-kill is another strike against the possibility. remember the Batman & Robin figure line? All those Bat variants, and only three females, none wearing costumes from the movie itself (although maybe that's a blessing).

I am more hoping for a Babs-like-Batgirl design. We see Cass in the comics and I kinda miss the red hair and blue/gray costume And since it is Babs I doubt that they make the costume to cassandra-like, because this could be to confusing. Or I am wrong Matt?

Post by azrael24 on Feb 22, 2005 9:10:57 GMT -5
i guess ur right, although i think that cassandra is better because she is darker and creepier and more batmanish .barbara is not really batmanish, neither is robin
|
|
|
Post by azrael24 on Feb 22, 2005 18:20:19 GMT -5
what i mean is that batman is a very dark, violent person and robin is too colorful sort of. barbara is ok i guess, but cassandra is a lot darker, more like batman . but i do miss barbara, or at least when she was batgirl. i wonder wether the joker is going 2 do the same thing in this universe?? probably not since they're changing the whole thing, but i like barbara better as batgirl than oracle (although that means no cassandra, unless there is 2 batgirls at the same time and there is a lotta competition.)

"Jungle Venom Poison Ivy" is very possibly the most unappealing figure ever made. Ah, well, at least she didn't come with the 'Sailor-Moon' hair...
