Will Ace make his "The Batman" debut?
Does Ratcatcher appear to menace The Dark Knight?
What dastardly creature has Catwoman or The Penguin sent after their hated foe?
Maybe Grundy's still lugging around Cheetah?
The first appearance of Karmak, the evil scientist-within-the-body-of-an-ape?
Tune in next week to find out! Same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel!
;D

That was just me being funny. Errr...*trying* to be funny, anyway. It could be a Catwoman episode, but I don't think it will be. Just my hunch on that one.... --Larry

I'm going nuts trying to figure out who it might be ...i don't think it would be Pengy or Catwoman... they've been used already this season and it's only 4 eps in thus far. i'm hoping for a new villain (as in, classic, but unseen on the show so far). i've really got no clue who it might wind up being though ...I'd really like to see an ep based around Rupert Thorne, although i'm sure this one won't be ;D

that is true but it was also too soon to show joker, although what you said is better, maybe they will introduce someone that hasn't been anounced to be on the show or that new character that matsuda mentioned in the interview

i highly doubt if it will be a completely new villain, since Matt stated (a while back) that those would get introduced in season three

well ya better give me some money because the villain is yet again the ugly, stupid, good-4-nothing penguin! yes, unless toonzone made a mistake again that ugly retarded penguin is back. honestly they are giving us too much of the penguin and not enough of other characters like catwoman or bane or mr.freeze. this episode is going to be bad i'm getting tired of the penguin

I can't understand why the Penguin again He already appear two times in season 1 and now in 2 of 5 episodes of season 2. What a waste of time What did they find on Penguin, he's one of the most stupid Batman villains (next to him is Ventiloquist). Here are the newssite Az mentioned: news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=2564

why is the penguin brought back again, its like his 5th time on the show, the episodes he has are getting boring. i just hope that this will be his last time this season, because they have all those cool new villians lined up, why do they need to keep bringing the penguin back.

Interesting. That is quite a lot of penguin, isn't it? I'd take this with a grain of salt until I see the ep...thats the same site that claimed 'Swamped' featured Grundy.

I don't know what's with these people and the Penguin I mean he's been in four episodes, he was in the first comic and he's going to be in the Alfred story and he's got the game on cartoonnetwork.com and now another episode. I hope toonzone made a mistake like with Solomon Grundy.

Apparently they got the info from a reputable source this time: Chris Yost, writer of the ep..so its probably the case gang, sorry to say. I could do without more Penguin as well.

Chris Yost also wrote the very good "The Big Heat" episode and (from what I hear) the excellent "Riddled," so I'm willing to say that the more scripts written by Mr. Yost, the merrier. Though I'm not as thrilled to see The Penguin again so soon. Frankly, I love their version of Ozzy, I think he's a great reinvention of the character, but all these episodes *and* the DTV threaten to make him the most overexposed villain besides The Joker...also appearing in the DTV. Too much of a great character could ruin his impact. Still, after this we shouldn't be seeing more of him until Season 3...I think we're in store for a lot of great episodes coming up, and who knows? Maybe Mr. Yost will surprise us all again with his amazing writing skills, and deliver a Penguin episode that makes us all eat our words. Even if Ozzy is overexposed, a great writer + a great villain could still = a great episode. --Larry

He's a very talented writer, nice guy, and a poster here on the forum He was here when 'the big heat' aired. I definately hope that the episode brings us something new in terms of character development for Penguin. I'm just the inpatient type that wants to run through all of the villians once before they're revisited, because i'm anxious to see them all in action.[/shadow]

What this Penguin needs right now is some character development within the confines of the plot. "The Batman" *is* a very fast-paced and action-oriented series, but when they take the time to slow down just a little bit and give their villains motivation to go along with their personalities, I think the episodes have shined. I feel the same way about most of the villains, with a few exceptions. I think we'd all like to see Catwoman developed some more, and I know I'm itching for a rematch between The Batman and Bane! (Though my understanding is that we'll have to wait until season 3 to see that one.) I'm also looking forward to Clayface's return... So there are cases where a repeat appearance isn't a bad thing....I think the problem here is that we've gotten to the point where unless they've got something new to add or something interesting to say concerning their take on The Penguin, they should give the character a break before the audience starts regarding him as a turkey. (Yeah, bad pun...but you get my point....) Still, the only thing that provides me with a shred of hope for this one is the fact that Mr. Yost is writing. If anybody can surprise me with this episode, it's him. I suppose our (much appreciated) viewers in Canada will let us know this coming Sunday... --Larry

Yeah, as I understand the network has flip flopped on when bane is showing up a few times..they regard him as too violent. argh. as for Clayface..I have it on good authority that when he does return in season two...he'll be one evil SOB.

Oh really? I didn't know that about Bane. I hope they'll relent...though I understand the network had a lot of notes for season 3...and given the "toned down" aspects and introducing the kid-friendly Batgirl, they may not soon be willing to allow them to bring back Bane.
A lot of fans take for granted or don't understand the pressures put forth on a kids cartoon these days, especially on a network like Kid's WB, or dealing with a popular character like Batman. It isn't just free reign over there to tell whatever stories they'd like. Anytime someone is ready to complain about the lack of guns (or their...uh...unique design...), some of the darker aspects being removed, etc...they should stop and take this into consideration.
These guys are all tremendous fans of Batman, and are giving us the best show that they can. They've fought hard to keep certain things, and have had to make compromises or abandon others. This is still a business, and yes, creativity is stifled on occasion by politics, money, or just being socially responsible. But they *are* fans, and they work harder than most people to give us the best show that they can. For that alone, I think they deserve to be commended -- what's more impressive is just how good The Batman has turned out to be. They've brought us a great new version of the Dark Knight, and for that I am very grateful.
I'm sorry to stray on a tangent there...just felt it needed to be said....
As for Clayface, you really regard his actions as evil? I'd see him as completely justified in his actions...the character he may or may not go after *deserves* to have his butt handed to him by Clayface....

Well, all I can tell you is that I liked it. Is it really airing this weekend on Teletoon? I have no idea. But if it is, I'm shocked there hasn't been a preview image or something, which would pretty quickly give you the gist of the episode, and ease your minds about Penguin's return... or quite possibly not. Anyway, thanks for the kind words about 'Heat' and 'Riddled'. Chris Yost

Mr. Yost: I see someone has re-registered since their last visit. I'm quite curious as to when Teletoon is going to *stop* airing new episodes...I keep expecting them to go into repeats each week...but we also know (from a press release) that they're airing at least 2 new episodes in May...I'd be shocked if they aired all 13 of these episodes...while I'd call it unlikely that will happen, if they *do* have all 13 of these episodes (as it sounds like they do), that could very well be the case. As for the pressure, what do you expect when you write two great episodes of a series? You're a very, very talented writer...and it sounds like you have an interesting "hook" for this Penguin episode. Are you writing more scripts this season, or do we have to wait until the third season for another episode, following this installment? --Larry

I think I had to register twice, too. I'm an AOL user, and for some reason the confirmation e-mail (and for that matter any updates/info) have never been able to reach that account. So I had to use some Yahoo account (which I've barely ever touched) so I could post around here. Yet another headache AOL's caused me over the years. If we added up all the headaches that company has caused me, we'd wind up with a brain aneurysm! ;D (Heh, we should get back on topic...what was that topic again? ) --Larry
