oh man... i'm excited about the news, but i really hope it isn't Robin. i don't mind him as a stand-alone character, but i can't STAND him as a sidekick.. and IMO, two childish sidekicks would be wayyy too many at this point. Batgirl is serving as this series' Robin and i hope it stays that way (heck, i could even do without her for a while). we need more solo Batman. and we need more classic villains ;-) ...personally, i hope the news involves Two-face, Scarecrow, or some other a-list villain that has not yet been introduced.

I know you're all waiting impatiently...and I don't want to keep you in anticipation any longer...so I'll go ahead and tell you 45 minutes early.... I've heard from a few reputable sources now that since we're getting a season four, and since Titans was indeed cancelled....thats right....we WILL be seeing a new version of the boy wonder.... ROBIN!Now..we don't have any images or details just yet..I don't even know if the design team has worked on him...but if Jmat, Perkins or Lopez can comment, they're welcome to do so...I would imagine, however, that they cannot at this point, so don't get your hopes up. I'm sure they can't say a thing about season 4 just yet. Thankfully, we have a LOT of other sources near the show that you guys don't even know about, so they can remain anonymous

I wish they would keep TT's Robin design though, it would match the show perfectly with the little edging on both of their shoes the bigger eyes that match Batgirl's it all fits together...

I kind of hope not, his hair makes him look kind of like a geek XP But asides from that its okay, I still like the TT one best, but how would it fit into the plot? THe timing is all wrong unless they decide to make up their own origin which is perfectly acceptable..

I'm going to say that it'll have some animated TT influence, adapted into The Batman's world.

I kind of made my own Robin design for the show. He has the usual TT/B:TAS look, cape that goes over his shoulders(like Batman), a mask that looked like the one Slade gave him, and anime type hair like Super Saiyan Trunks with long hair from Dragon Ball Z.

Dang it!!!! Why the heck would they have 3 super heroes this isn't fair for the villains! Does it look like I wan't to see Riddler be beaten by a kid that is embarassing! They better keep Batgirl on the show and hopefully some villain team ups I wan't to see the villains beat the bat and Robin had better not ruin their plans or else more villain team ups will appear and the show will be to short to have a whole episode. Now I am worried I don't want Robin to look like the one on the TT I want a new one like the BTAS version, I will get used to this but, allot of characters might not make up a 24 minute show. I hope this works out.

I hope they use the same voice though That is my big push....I want you all to voice your opinions on this one. I vote for Scott Menville to reprise his role as Robin. It only seems right to me. If Scott is willing and Kids WB! is willing...I think it'd be a nice thing for the fans.

I hope this works out. [shadow=purple,left,300]Hero, because I absolutely agree with you. First, I really think they're pushing it here with the sidekicks. This show was originally suppose to be about Batman's first years in crime fighting. Practically overnight, Batman went from being public enemy number one to socially acceptable Police companion. Then Batgirl comes along. Great. Whatever. I could deal with her, because they were taking a new approach to Batman's continuity. But as soon as Batgirl debuted, the show became less enjoyable for me. It's almost painful for me to watch any of the season 3 episodes over again because she detracts from the show's overall feel. But again, that doesn't really bother me because it's still an innovated move on the creative team's part, and it actually works for the series.
Now, in less than no time, Robin is coming into play? I'm not bashing the show, but seriously, why is "The Batman" rushing things along so fast? Robin should have waited until season 5, giving Batgirl two seasons to develop. But instead, it looks like she'll be tossed on the backburner by the time she'll become a likeable character.
Again, I'm not purposely bashing the show, and I hope this hasn't offended anybody. I'm just a bit confused. [/shadow]

Firstly, I don't mind "cute" character mixed in. Thats just me. I think that Batgirl, in this series, really does the job that Robin was originally intended to do in the comics...offset Batman and push him back into the shadows. it makes for a grimmer and more serious Bats. He finds himself having to be more fatherly and mature in his actions, because of Barbara's life being on the line as well as his own. I'm not sure he's ready to handle two child sidekicks...which is why I think it'll be interesting! It may be a bit much for him. But, you know what, TNBA didn't feel crowded (to me at least) and I don't think the Batman will either. the more characters the better. That way, maybe we can have more than one story going on at a time in an episode! The writers need fresh faces to work with sometimes. I'm for this one. other thoughts?

I agree that a new character like Robin can give writers fresh ideas for stories. For example, we have yet to see more of Bane. Wasn't there only like 1 episode? Maybe 2? It's possible that because of how powerful Bane is, there isn't much Batman can do to get in his way. And if this is a spoil, please stop reading, but we saw Batman bring out the Batbot suit again in a recent episode, and saw Batgirl eventually find her way in and use it. These are the kool kind of ideas that can come out of a fresh new character. With Robin, maybe now we can see Bane re-emerge to fight Batman, Batgirl, AND Robin! That makes for a more fair match-up, and also Batman would have to watch out for Batgirl and Robin, as they are quite young and tiny.
So that is just one example. And it would be nice to see Batman start to lose some battles, and not necessarily have each episode end with such a nice conclusion. The addition of Robin could mix things up and let villians get away. We saw a 2-parter with Batgirl's debut, so that is proof right there.
I'm all for Robin being thrown in. And I'm very interested to see how he is designed. Hopefully his character won't be too far a stretch from his roots as well. But eh...this show has changed some things quite a bit and I still enjoy it! And hey, even though I think they should change it a bit from the Teen Titans design, if they stick with it, we already have easy access to his action figure!!

This all sounds good to me...
Robin. Honestly i think it's about time. If they don't want it a solo show then robin needs to be there. Tho i'm all up for more villains. Personally i would love to see some more of the comic D listers appear. Or maybe expand on some of the ones we've seen. Such as cluemaster.
