[shadow=Navy,left,300]This are sketches he did before HUSH. This were his first charakter studies of Catwoman. In the new Wizard there is something from this series inside, but I don't know what. Did anybody has the latest issue?[/shadow]

I haven't looked at the Wizard article yet, so I can't answer that question, but I did pick up an issue of Comic Shop News that I read thru. It has the Batman and Robin pic on the cover, that we first saw in Wizard a couple of months ago (shown elsewhere in this thread).
Jim Lee and Frank Miller are interviewed. When asked, "What is the focus of the story?" Frank replied, "This is Dick Grayson's initiation and he's dealing with a very stern teacher. Batman is a hard teacher - unforgiving. Brutal. At the same time, Grayson is watching Batman come into his full power. Me and Jim Lee get to play with all of DC's toys. It'll be a romp. It'll be a lot of fun. I plan on raiding DC's treasury of characters. There won't be a Black Canary or a Wonder Woman unused."
Later in the interview (after going over much of what we already know), Lee talks about costume "tweaks" - and he has plenty to work with besides just Batman and Robin, because "Miller's story has a small superheroic army of guest stars." Lee says (about costume changes), "I think it will be as classic as can be with more tweaking as we go further down the icon list. Those C and D-list heroes can expect more drastic makeovers, but when it comes to characters like Black Canary - it's got to be a short leather jacket and fishnets all the way."
Miller and lee are signed for a minimum of six issues, but it could go on for as many as Miller wants to do.

BTW, I just skimmed the "exclusive" in Wizard - its some sketches of Batman and Robin from Lee and sketches of Superman from Quitely. If you're thinking of buying it for that, don't bother. There's no new info at all - at least in that article. I'll skim the rest of the book today and let you know.

[shadow=Navy,left,300]Thanks a lot for the info reideen. I was hoping to see some villain designs. I think it is stupid that they are talking so much about DC heroes C and D-list. It is cool to see Jim Lees redesigns on them but they should concentrate more on the Batman villains. We know that Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face and Penguin will be in but it sounds like the book will be a cameo book. DC All-Stars I think All-Star Superman is only Superman or?[/shadow]

I was also hoping for a more back-to-basics, yet gritty Batman and Robin story. I'm not enthusiastic about a herothon. It's part of what I so disliked about DK2.
I'll give it a shot but I'm a little more wary right now.

Also, I found out that Bizarro will be playing a role in the upcoming Superman All Star book. YAY!! ;D Me am so sad! I was also hoping for a more back-to-basics, yet gritty Batman and Robin story. I'm not enthusiastic about a herothon. It's part of what I so disliked about DK2. I'll give it a shot but I'm a little more wary right now. I can understand that. DK2 wasn't that bad. It was way over hyped, but what product can live up to 20+ years of hype and excitement from fans? Star Wars couldn't. I don't think it's reasonable to expect Miller and the DK books to either. If the guest stars are done well, I'll enjoy it a lot - Lee's art, Miller's writing....I'm definately going to check it out.

It was way over hyped, but what product can live up to 20+ years of hype and excitement from fans? I hear where you're coming from, but my take on DK2 is it was a mess, regardless of the hype. What was great about DKR was not only its intricate storytelling but the fact that Miller clearly had something to say philosophically beyond Batman (no pun intended) and the comics medium. DK2 had neither intricate storytelling nor any real sensibility. His political points were warmed over and the story was at times incoherent. In addition, I thought labeling it a DK sequel was a slight misnomer. It really should have been called "The Justice League Returns." And this is kind of why I'm vaguely apprehensive about All-Stars. It sounds like it's going to be another parade of heroes. If they're going to do a Batman title, they should do a Batman title. ... Not to judge it before I read it, of course.

I have a question. Since the All star comics are coming, what will happen to the continuity Batman and comics like Detective, will they still have big stories, top writers and artists? Thanks for your help in advanced, I like what they are doing, I just do not want this ruining the continuity comics of Batman and his other related books.

I'm not 100% certain, but I really doubt All-Stars will interfere with normal Batman continuity. It won't take place in regular Bat-continuity, and will be completely separate from it. That's what I gather from all that's been said.

Oh, re, I think I may have misunderstood your question. I think All-Stars serves as a way for the top artists and writers to sort of do what they want with the character. I think the regular continuity Bat-books will go on as they have been and not be changed in the way of who writes/draws them. That's how I interpret what they've said they're doing.

COOL, I'm glad it won't take the place of the regular comics, but I will also probably pick up Batman All Stars along with the regular continuity. Thanks for your help HUSH.

I thought the ONLY redeeming quality in DK2 was the guest stars,...
The storyline sucked, as did the "big villian" of Dick Grayson...it was just bad.
I'll cry if Fiona Avery ever gets stuck on any Bat-Family project, cause she is a worse plotter and writer than my 4 year old cousin, and I have never heard of anyone outside of JMS liking her writing....

I like this design of the Robin costume as well. I'm interested to see what other gadgets and redesigns that Lee and Miller come up with!

Although I'm looking forward to the series, I think I'm in the minority in not being crazy about the designs? Batman's decent, but Robin just doesnt work for me. Somethings off in my mind. The designs dont look "finished". They look like... concepts? Similar to my thoughts of the Tumbler. Cool design/concept Etc. but incomplete and un-polished. As if they up and ran w/ the first usable, cool idea and produced it without any fine tuning? Does that make sense? (and I know more thought than I realize went into everything above). ;D

Lee needs to keep the seamlines, he makes it look more, bulletproof vest like. I really want to see what the batarangs look like.

i think this could end up very well being the best batman series out there as continuty has bogged down the current batman crop of titles, also the costumes kick major butt, the only thing im abit worried about is the villains i heard that they wernt putting any of the major villians in it but the D-lsit ones instead which would kinda spoil it though i do think they might do that after so many complained about the redesigns on THE BATMAN tv show. Also 1 ig thing i would die to see in it is all-star batgirl and even her having her own all star title.

I'm happy enough with the designs.Robin's costume looks like a bit of a blend of old and new and the pouch-style utility belt is a good addition. Looking forward to seeing them in full colour too!
