Not sure if this belongs here, but I posted some re-designs I did over at Superherohype.com. I've always wanted to see a Batman show on HBO and since that's not likely anytime soon, I did some original designs for a show that would be set in a much darker atmosphere. The Batman The Joker Mr. Freeze The Riddler Bane That's all I got so far, what do you think?

Riddler is coming off too "Lex Luthor" for me b/c of the bald head, but he still looks damn good!
You're really gifted...will you make more characters? Like Penguin and Catwoman?[/shadow][shadow=purple,left,300]Welcome to LOG, btw~[/shadow]

I really like those - some of them look better than the actual, "The Batman" designs.

Hey SOB, wazzup. Tis I, Batjml, from the SHH forums. I was wondering if I'd 'bump' into any fellow SHHer's on these boards. Here's some more designs for you guys...also posted on SHH for us 'tweeners'. The Penguin...I've been getting reamed for this one. And a brief description....I LOVE the way Burton handled him in the movie. I never liked The Penguin as just some short "business man"...he was always the least intimidating of Batman's villians...short, fat, and carries an umbrella...ooh scary! I prefer him to be much more 'animalistic'. Think along the lines of what Burton did for him in Batman Returns, only my Penguin would stay in the sewers. There would NOT be any running for Mayor storyline or romance with Catwoman, this Penguin would be a foul, hiddeous creature that dwells beneath the streets. His skin is a pale color so he comes across more 'sickly' than he normally does. I also stuck with the ideas of him having flipper-like hands. Once again I made him bald (sorry Dorkyfresh) because I wanted him to look old and completely disgusting to look at (hence the liver spots). Since The Penguin has yet to be spotted above the sewers of Gotham I would have him linked (allegedly) to a lot of dissapearances, and dead bodies that have been found near the main sewage system in the city. He would be dismissed as a stupid legend kids made up by most of the city (much like how The Batman is looked upon by most people). This Penguin lives in complete filth, but is funded by a "private party" (give you a clue...his picture is up there) that allows him to maintain his obsession with science, and experimentation on the poor souls of Gotham that happen to wander near his sewers. My latest one...The Scarecrow And a brief description....This is based off of a sketch I did for the movie version of The Scarecrow. His mask doubles as a breathing aparatus for when he releases his fear gas...hence the tubes coming from the mouth. When Jonathan Crane was a child he was diagnosed with a rare eating disorder that kept his body grossly thin no matter what he ate...almost to the point where he appeared transparent because his skin was so thin and pale. 30 years later, and now the "Inmate behavioral specialist" at Arkham Asylum, Dr. Jonathan Crane has turned his years of ridicule and abuse on those he deems responsible....mainly humanity. Using a revolutionary "fear toxin" he developed for Wayne Industries Dr. Crane has been secretly performing experiments on the inmates of Arkham Asylum. One of his proudest achievements is the developmental drug "Venom" he created for a former escaped inmate codenamed "BANE". With further research on his "fear toxins" he realized he was able to not only instill fear, but he was able to take it away completely. Unknown to his superiors at Arkham Asylum, Dr. Crane is singlehandedly responsible for the deaths of over 30 inmates in the past 5 years...one inmate seemingly took a razor and peeled the flesh off his body as he screamed about spiders in his cell. Given the nickname "Scarecrow" (because of a halloween type gas mask he wears during his experiments) Dr. Crane's biggest secret is that he's deathly afraid of being caught and imprisoned with the few remaining survivors of his horrible experiments. Hope you guys like...

[shadow=red,left,300]I have to say I like your take on Two Face and Penguin the most. I always felt that Two-Face's scarred side would have the flesh eaten away, with exposed bone and muscle on that side. I mean after all, if he did have acid thrown in his face, this would be the result..not changing his skin color.
As for your take on Penguin, very interesting. I too was fond of Burton's take on the character, without all of the silliness. You definately make him a much more compelling and threatening menance for the Dark Knight.[/shadow]

[shadow=blue,left,300]Jeebus..those new three look terrific..
Two-Face looks good, his face doesnt just look "discolored"... The Penguin makes me sad because he looks like a homeless bum...but he does give you a creepy feel about him.
Scarecrow looks like the BTAS version, but I love the Scarecrow in general, so I'm still happy with it![/shadow]

ROBIN... I really didn't want to do Robin since I was doing more of a "Year One" deal, but then I thought oh what the hell, since certain people asked so nicely I did him anyways. With this one, I stuck to 2 basic colors. I like the current Robin costume, but I never understood why Batman, who is dressed in dark colors would want a partner that ran around in Christmas colors. With that, I used black and a crimson for my Robin's suit. I moved the 'R' from his left breast to the center of the chest. I also used the 'bird' logo similar to what Nightwing has as a centerpiece of his chest...Batman has one, why not Robin?? As far as his bio goes, I would just use Dick Grayson's and tweak it a bit... After the massacre of his entire family (Mother, Father, 2 Brothers and Sister) during a routine circus act (Flying Graysons), 15 year old Dick Grayson escapes his orphanage and seeks justice on the person that killed his parents....The Joker (fits in with the circus aspect). After tracking down The Joker and confronting him. Dick is captured and brutally beaten...about to be executed by The Joker, and clinging to life from the injuries he's sustained Dick realizes that he's not the only one that had been tracking The Joker that night....THE BATMAN manages to disable The Joker long enough to free Dick and escape with him back to the safety of The Batcave. Keeping a close vigil over him until he was strong enough to speak, The Batman begins to quesition Dick about the murder of his parents. Upon listening to Dick's account of the events that night, The Batman takes pitty on him and offers to give him an outlet to channel his rage and anger. Once he is strong enough, Batman begins (no pun intended) to put Dick through a rigorous training regime that will teach him discipline, loyalty and self control. Deciding that in order to fully trust eachother The Batman reveals his true identity as Bruce Wayne, and grants Dick full accress to The Batcave and Wayne Maynor. Now codenamed "Robin", and outfitted with all the weapons and abilities as his mentor, Dick Grayson is Batman's full time partner in his never ending war on crime....knowing that he will cross paths with The Joker again, Robin is confident the outcome of their latest confrontation will be different this time around.

Here is another much requested re-design....CATWOMAN Selina Kyle is a 22yr old rich kid that lives in the upper west side of Gotham City. Known for her beauty, and love of life on the edge Selina has found the ultimate thrill in her double life as the cat burglar, Catwoman. Niether good or bad, Catwoman only sides with whoever she can benefit from the most. Her main focus is to find out if there is any truth to the rumor about "The Batman" that patrols Gotham City at night, because if there is he could turn out to be the biggest thrill yet. I kept her costume pretty similar to the one she wears in the comics currently. I LOVE the goggles that she wears since they give her a more cat-like appearance..I just changed the lenses to a golden color to resemble a cat's eyes more. The costume is a mix of the one she wears now, the one from Batman Returns, and some of my own ideas. Since my Catwoman is younger, I made it look like her costume could be put together by anyone with some leather jackets/pants, boots, and a sewing machine.

That's funny because most people at Superherohype HATE Catwoman and LOVE Robin. So as it stands now, most people dislike my Penguin and Catwoman, but like everything else....not bad.

[shadow=purple,left,300]Well, I kinda see why. The only thing I don't like on Catwoman is the white, uh, "cat-symbol." Penguin's my favorite villain in the Batman world, and your design is an interesting take on Burton's vision, which is my favorite. Keep them coming... [/shadow]
