lol, I thought you were done Eric! I'm definately going to score this one!!! hehe. I am, pretty much. I cancelled all my Batman comics at the shop, and have no plans on purchasing any new Batman "toys". I skipped the TRUs exclusive Riddler for this Imaginext set, but since this includes him and a Two Face, Ill grab this one. I just find this series so cool and retro. I can say though, my brother is getting me the Public Enemies maquette for Christmas.

Just wanted to give a little update on my neck of the woods for BATB merchandise. Seems that it has almost been completely eliminated from the sets at every retailer.
Wal Mart has 3 empty pegs, been that way for 2 months, and have only 2 transforming Batmobiles.
TRUs has cut the figs down to 1 row of basics, 1 deluxe, 1 Action Heroes, and afew facings for the boxed stuff.
Target "had" a large 4 foot section that has been cut down to only a couple of pegs that have 3 Kanjar Ros and they also only have 2 transfomring Batmobiles.
I dont know what the deal is with this. Ive asked the people I know at these stores and Ive been told the same thing by all. They dont get them in. Seems that the Mattel distribution hasnt improved at all. Im right back to where I was a little over a year ago where no local retailer was carrying Batman merchandise. This is one of the major factors that has influenced my decision to stop collecting Batman.

i read the first couple of issues of B&R, and while I am enjoying Dick as Batman, its all the rest thats turning me off. I have no use for the Batwoman character, so 'tec is out. Red Robin Im enjoying, but I think Ill wait for a tpb rather than worry about picking up a single issue every month. As for the other titles, Im just not feeling them.

This is just a post containing my personal attitude and thoughts on my current collecting status. I thought that I would share them with my fellow LoG members.
I have been collecting Batman steadily for 23 years now. Ever since I was 13. I started out collecting anything and everything that was Batman, if it had an emblem on it, I wanted it! I had a goal to have one of the largest collections, but after awhile the collection began to control me and define me, rather than the other way around. I reevaluated my collecting habits, refocused, thinned out my collection and started anew. I enjoyed collecting again. However, for the last 5 years I have grown increasingly discontent with the whole Batman collecting hobby. There has been very little over the last 5 years that has really made me excited. I have made no secrets about my personal feeling towards Mattel as a toy company as far as their products and distribution. DCD has also not offered me what I considered to be a great quality/price collectable. Even the comics have lost the thrill they once had for me. I took a 8 month hiatus from collecting the comics, just recently started back up again, but have found that the excitement still isnt there. I havent even read the last 2 months worth of books. They are just sitting on my boxes waiting to be bagged and boarded. So, I have decided to once again stop collecting new issues. As for toy collecting, I have also decided to stop. Im a "Batman" collector, not a DCU collector, and there is not much out there for me. Not enough to keep me interested. Im not that big a fan of the current movie series, I could honestly care less about Nolans 3rd movie. Plus I cant stand Bale as Batman. Heck, the one thing that did give me a kick was the BATB series, but thats been on hiatus and the toy offerings are too far apart and not "Batman" specific enough to keep me interested. I have pretty much decided to suspend my Batman collecting indefintely. Maybe its time to move on. After 23 years of collecting anything youre bound to get tired. Maybe Im just at that age where getting the material things just isnt as important to me in reflecting my fandom.
At any rate, Im sure Ill still be around, but I cant say how much. Thanks for listening.

Well, after several years now of my local Wal marts, or any other store for that matter, carrying the DCU lines, it seems that they have started again. They had a whole slew of the IH singles and 3 packs, including the Gotha Knights pack. They also have the DCU figs. Unfortunately, because no stores in my area ever carried these, I gave up on the lines a long time ago. Too little too late for me I guess.

Found Plastic Man and Green Arrow today at Wal Mart, as well as the slew of reaccessorized Batmen. They did some major restocking and resetting in their toy department. I passed tough. Been doing alot of thinking as of late with my collecting, and the truth is, the toys just dont "do it" for me anymore. Maybe its 23 years of collecting the same thing, I dont know. But I started strong with this BATB line but the lack of "Batman" oriented characters is really leaving this line stale with me.

All I have to say is the new batman movie better be sans Bale he is the worst batman ever. But on a lighter note I heard Kevin Smith was set to direct and make a cameo as the Peguin, Jason Lee as the Riddler, Ethan Suplee as Bane, and Jason Mewes as the Joker for Batman 3. First off, Bale's the best Batman we've had. Have you seen Clooney? As for your "news": *facepalm* Actually, both your statements are personal opinion and not fact. Therefore neither of you are right or wrong, so you cant really correct someone on this type of statement.
Personally, I wouldnt mind if Bale didnt come back.

Well, they have the Basic figs for $11 and the Electronic Deluxe figs for $22, so the $30 is probably accurate.

Not sure if new, but I saw BATB Green Arrow and Plastic Man last night. Yeah, it's new. Where'd you find them at?
My TRUs jusr reset their shelves, AGAIN, and they cut their Batman/DC section by half. AGAIN. Thers only a total of 4 foot for everything.

Ive seen this only once at a toy show. As stated in the auction, it was a UK release. It simply comes with a cardboard backdrop section that attached to the end of one of the standard cave pieces. Its actually pretty cool because of that.

I am a huge Transformers and G.I.Joe fan, so in a stupid way I liked G.I.Joe. But Shadowbat69, please tell me you are referring to G.I joe being close to the comic and not Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Because Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was no where near the comics! It mostly stole Ideas from other action movies and ignored the source material. And this is coming from someone who liked the movie! I am just being realistic. No, I am referring to ROTF. Alot of the basic ideas in that movie came from both the comics (Marvel, UK, IDW) and the different cartoons.

We went to see Joe Saturday night. It was stupid, but cartoon stupid. You cant take this kind of movie seriously. It was almost like watching the cartoon come to life. There were some easter eggs in there for old school fans, and they handled Destro perfectly. The new origin of C.C. was interesting, it beats being a used car salesman or a snakeman from a lost civilization.
I still dont see how so many think Transformers was so bad. Just about everything they had in that movie was from one of the comic series'.
