Has Marvel comics said anything or has anybody heard any complaints that the red hood could be seen as The Red Skull in appereance? Of course there are noticable differences but the red tight fitting mask. Red Hood, Red Skull? Just curious...

Of course there are noticable differences but the red tight fitting mask. Red Skull doesn't wear a mask, thats just how his face is, kinda like Black Mask. also i believe Red Skull made his first appearance before the Joker Red Hood. Red Hood (joker) was in the fifties, Red Skull appeared during World War 2. so if any legal action were to take place it would have been taken back then, or alot sooner than now. and look at Captain Boomerang (DC) and Boomerang (Marvel). no legal action there, and both at one point wore a similar costume and have basically the same name.

also for those who say Anarky, he could still be it, but he's back as himself in Green Arrow # 51. Here's a pic of the cover:

i was just re- reading "death and the maidens", and it got me thinking that maybe the Red Hood is Nyssa, Ra's other daughter. just something else to think about for the next 4 days.

What if it's Dick? . as interesting as that could make things..I just don't see why or how it could be! What would be his motivation?! That and they'd tarnish Dick Grayson forever....which would piss off a lot of us older school fanboys. Not that they care lol. Whatever sells a book THIS year is all that matters anymore

I was just thinking, so many people are against it being Jason, I'm pretty sure it's not Tim, and maybe Dick needs another identity - like Matches Malone for Batman - to use in Bludhaven. With Blockbuster gone, there would be a vacuum that would need to be filled by some "boss" type character, right? He's helping Oracle take down Black Mask in future books and he's collecting Kryptonite (maybe as a favor to Uncle Superman?) so...maybe? The only thing that I can see as a flaw in my theory, and it's a big one, is Dick's broken leg. (Isn't it broken? That's why he's on crutches in Hester's first issue, right?)

also if it were Dick, then who was Nightwing when they fought Amazo? it would be interesting but i don't think Judd Winick would do it. he'd lose one of the core members of Outsiders.

when you put it like that jeff, that angle is workable.
his leg is still messed up...but I'm sure they could find a way around that lol.
That would be hilarious if he were using Red Hood as his criminal alias. I'd actually be ok with that...it'd be pretty sweet..another dimension for Dick and an outlet for his darker side.
He may be collecting kryptonite not for Supes, but in case of him. Although they get along swimingly...he's no fool. And if he's following more methods of the bat in his old age, like the alter ego, then he may be preparing himself for the occasion that Supes isn't on his side.....
who knows.
that or perhaps whoever red hood is, is working for Lex....

his leg's not broken, he was shot. and the theory does sound good, but he can't be in two places at once, he fought Amazo along with Batman after they chased the Red Hood. so if it is Dick, then he's working with someone. maybe its Tad Ryerstad (Nite-Wing). but here's another question, i was under the impression that Batman had the last of the Kryptonite in the ring. so how does Black Mask get a hold of a crate of it?
