GTTV said they would be having a Launch Special on Monday August 24!
I wonder if we'll get a midnight release too.

Page 82 of this month's Game Informer Magazine (#197) had a really good review of the game. They gave it a 9.5 (out of 10) and was the Game of the Month. *SPOILER ALERT* "...the final confrontation is a major letdown, an outrageous concept is squashed by Batman's morality. The fight that follows is easily this game's worst." One can only assume (atleast I did) that his fight is against the Joker. After all of the hype I am really looking forward to this game and I'm sure the extras with the Collector's Edition will be fantastic.

Does the Skeleton Map come with the Game Stop pre-order? I saw the trailer for it on tv yesterday. Did anyone catch the midnight episode (for Arkham Asylum) on Spike last night? I meant to tape it.

I watched it last night. I got it today, it is freakin awesome. They finally got a Batman game right. I just beat Bane and am now in the Arkham Batcave. That's only 12% complete though. I guess this is gonna be a loooooooong game.

That's awesome. I can't wait to play...did you opt for the Strategy Guide or are you going "solo"?

I think I'm about done. I'm at Ivy right now, and I think Joker's up next for the finale. So far this is a really fun game. The combat, the predator, and especially the Scarecrow levels. That's possibly the best part of any game I've ever played.

I just beat it. I love this game. The ending was a little anti-climactic but it was a great game. I don't know if they'll be able to get it this right again. Here's hopin though.

I picked up the strategy guide just for it's collectors purpose. I won't really flip through it until after I finish the game.

i've gotta say guys, im really dissapointed with the collector's edition, the batarang is a big slab of black plastic with no detain and even worse, its all scratched up to make it look "battle damaged", but it just looks like an old childs toy found on the side of the road. the scratches probobly would have looked cool if the thing was metal. it looks like they tied them all to the back of a truck and drove down a gravel road. I'll be painting mine thats for sure. anyone else have a problem with this? anyway the book is cool, but definatly not worth the extra $40. i really like the package it came in though, it displays nice. the actual game is AMAZING. why has it taken them this long to get a batman game completely right?

Yeah, I was very disappointed with the Batarang as well. I thought it would more detailed and metal. I liked the patient book as well. I've yet to watch the Behind the Scenes DVD though. As for why it took so long, we just needed the right people who had the right ideas and love for the character. We kinda saw it in the Batman Begins game, but Arkham Asylum takes it to a new level. After you beat the game, you can explore the rest of the island and find the rest of the profiles and Riddler trophies. If they can make an open world for one island, imagine what they could do with all of Gotham!
