I bought the Collector's Edition but have yet to open it so I appreciate the honest opinions about the poor quality of the Batarang...that's disappointing. It sounds like the game is amazing. Without having played the game yet...what makes this game the best Batman game to date? Is it the graphics, the story, the voices we're accustomed to, the attention to detail or is it a combination of the everything plus something else?

It also makes good use of Batman's stealth, gadgets, and detective skills.

That's what I thought. I saw this article today on Yahoo regarding the new game...they're saying this game could be the best superhero video game ever. www.videogames.yahoo.com/plugged-in

i've gotta say guys, im really dissapointed with the collector's edition, the batarang is a big slab of black plastic with no detain and even worse, its all scratched up to make it look "battle damaged", but it just looks like an old childs toy found on the side of the road. the scratches probobly would have looked cool if the thing was metal. it looks like they tied them all to the back of a truck and drove down a gravel road. I'll be painting mine thats for sure. anyone else have a problem with this? anyway the book is cool, but definatly not worth the extra $40. i really like the package it came in though, it displays nice. the actual game is AMAZING. why has it taken them this long to get a batman game completely right? Yeah, I was very disappointed with the Batarang as well. I thought it would more detailed and metal. I liked the patient book as well. I've yet to watch the Behind the Scenes DVD though. As for why it took so long, we just needed the right people who had the right ideas and love for the character. We kinda saw it in the Batman Begins game, but Arkham Asylum takes it to a new level. After you beat the game, you can explore the rest of the island and find the rest of the profiles and Riddler trophies. If they can make an open world for one island, imagine what they could do with all of Gotham! the dvd is good but short. its about 30 minutes. but when i do eventually paint my batarang, ill be sure to let you guys get a look at it in the customs section. and yeah i feel like this game is a prolouge to something much bigger, espesially since i've heard you dont fight that many more villians then the ones they've shone and scarecrow.

Here's an idea for the next game: Batman: Streets of Gotham. All of Gotham will be an open world and the main story is a gangwar between Black Mask, Penguin, and Two-Face and they have villains like Firefly, Zsasz, and Clayface working under them. You also get to work with Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, and Huntress on specific missions. The map will also show territories help by the gangs. How's that sound? Anyway, the game's gotten into the Guiness Book of World Records! ie.ps3.ign.com/articles/101/1019574p1.htmlBatman fans rejoice! It's great. In 2008 we got the movie of the year, and 2009 we have the game of the year.

you know i dont really know why its in the guiness world records. dont get me wrong its fantastic and possibly game of the year but the category its under is really weird to me. like its reeeeeeally specific by saying "most highly praised super-hero game". thats like if they made a category for "movie featuring the highest number of flamingos on screen at one time from 1967"

So I completed Batman Arkham Asylum the other day. All I have left is the "challange section". But the actual "story mode" is complete. Now here's my questions. First is my game only says 84% complete, but I have found and collected all the "Riddler's Challanges" and beaten the Joker. Now all I do is run around an empty Arkham Asylum so what else is there to do in the story mode or is 84% all there is in the story mode? And secondly is there a way to start a new game and carry over all the upgrades? Or do you have to start from scratch again?

Do you really have all 240 riddler . Well, yeah then you must do challenge mode, that's the only thing left. But some are really hard, i warn you!

You know what would be a good part for the next game? Interrogations. That's another great part about Batman, he can scare the information out of you, not just the crap.

Have a system where you have to ask the right questions in the right order and if you dont get it right it takes you longer to complete.

i was thinking that too. it was a fun part of the punisher when it came out. it would be awesome to dangle a thug of a building til he spills it, or beat it outta them... slowly

Beat the game, it was truely amazing.
To whomever said Robin, Nightwing, Huntress etc. should be in the next game i think thats a really bad idea. When you add something that dramatic into a video game squeal they usually dont get it right the first time. They may ruin a cont. of the game if they mess up how flawless the gameplay is right now. Free flow combat would be really hard to do with a computerized partner, and i honestly cant imagine how Robin, Nightwing, Huntress..etc would look like in a game like this. I think they should lay off adding a interactive partner, and just do the same thin they did last time with new gadgets and a awesome story.

How about just cameos then?

yeah, actually i would love to see the charecters as part of the story or maybe even have some playable side missions for these characters, but in terms of the actual game play, i dont think there would be a point to having a side kick because your batman, you should be able to do it all by yourself without the help of a partner. however i do think making some playable side missions for them would be fun. that actually may be a good idea for download content, like if they had a robin downloadable chapter and a nightwing downloadable chapter.
